Breakups.
At one point in everyone’s life they have to deal with a breakup. Whilst some people deal with the pain by drowning themselves in football, shopping or whatever they do, some people take breakups to the extreme.
Let’s take Angie Moore for example, captain of the school cheerleading team, perfect figure, tan skin & blonde hair. She has everything a guy wants and everything a girl wishes of having.
She dated Kaleb James for over a year, both big headed, top of the social ladder and proud owners of the same ‘don't give two craps about anyone other themselves’ perspective on life. They were destined for each other.
Rumour has it Angie cheated on Kaleb with Jefferson another member of the Westington high football team, it was actually quite funny when you thought about it, the head cheerleader cheats on her gorgeous and attractive head football player boyfriend and then the whole school is buzzing about their breakup.
Sounds just like a soap opera.
Another thing that was a big topic for the school, was the annual Westington high beauty contest. Now unlike Angie I have absolutely no self-confidence whatsoever, so I will not be competing, but since Maia is going I will have to at least attend the after party.
Tapping on the side of my notebook with my pencil, I watched Miss Wavely struggle to answer a question Mack had asked about World War II.
As much as I felt bad for Miss Wavely, I had to ask myself why should would even consider coming back to this death hole.
Miss Wavely had attended Westington High, graduated and came back as a teacher. She was still young, only 28 or something but she wished to come back here?
As lunch came around I sat down next to Maia and Shane, Maia was talking about the new episode of The Vampire Diaries. Typical.
"So Katy, what are you wearing to the after party tonight?" Maia asked her red hair coming out of her ponytail.
"I haven't really decided yet, but don't worry I’m coming,” I smiled biting into my sandwich.
Just as I did that I spotted Kaleb coming through the large doors closed, his eyes locked with mine. Entrapping me in his stare.
Well this isn't going well.
Walking to my table just like yesterday, everyone’s eyes were on us. Boy did I feel like a fish out of water.
"Summers, mind if I sit here?" he asked a smirk growing on his face.
"I actually do mi-" i was interrupted by the once empty chair next to me being replaced by Kaleb.
Great.
"You going tonight?" he asked
"Yes, actually, she is" Shane butted in, grin’s forming on his and Maia's faces.
"I’ll see you there then" he smirked, the only thing I wanted him to see was my book before I hit him in his face with it.
As day went on and all I could think about was if I could hide in my bedroom all night, then maybe I didn't have to see douchebag.
Sitting on my bed I played with the hem of my dress, whilst Maia added even more lipstick to her face. My long brown hair had been lightly curled, my bangs staying swept to the side of my face. I wore a white skater dress and light makeup. Maia wore a long pink and black dress.
