"Miss Kiara, Miss Diana? Need na daw po kayo sa stage." The crew's voice woke me up from my flashbacks.
Franki. She arrived kanina with Argel and Wealand.
Alam ko na it's my fault kung bakit hindi kami nagka-sabay kanina papunta dito sa mall pero bakit kailangan pa nilang mag-akbayan ni Argel?
Pero, sige.
"Ok, we'll be there in a minute po," Kiara told her.
The crew nodded and left us. I heard Kiara sighed for the nth time.
"I don't know what's gotten into you Di... I just hope na hindi mo yan pagsisisihan balang araw." I could hear the disappointment in her voice as she left me inside this dressing room.
I couldn't blame her.
I, too, was disappointed to myself.
But nakapag-isip isip ako kanina.
This was a door of opportunity that comes once in a lifetime and marami na kong pinagdaanan and sinacrifice just to touch the knob, ngayon pa ba ako susuko?
I could've been the next Binibining Pilipinas but I decided to choose the show business' path because naniniwala ako na this path was better than the other. It'd be more disappointing if I let the result to go otherwise, right?
For sure naman maiintindihan ako ni Franki, naintindihan ko nga sya kay Argel diba.
I joined them on the stage after they introduced me syempre and there,
I saw her, beside Argel again. Tsk.
I knew that pakana nanaman to ng management and as usual, I was seated beside Sky.
Sky. Kiara was right,
This past few days napapalapit na talaga ako kay Sky since we were shooting some vlogs for his youtube channel, and he seemed genuine naman sa feelings nya for me.
And no, I wasn't cheating, Franki and I were not yet exclusive because she wanted to take things slow daw.
The show was running smoothly. Most of the time the attention was on sky and I, and from that, sigurado na akong tama ang naging desisyon ko.
"So, is there a chance na magka-tuluyan kayo ni Sky sa totoong buhay?" the host suddenly asked and my mind went automatically to Franki.
I had never answered this question na kasama sya before, and I was so worried, so damn worried.
I had thrown too many weights on her today and my answer might be the last feather to touch her and cause her to fall.
It was a matter between her and my dreams, and I was so pissed sa host kasi nilagay nya ko sa on the spot na pag-pili.
But then nakita ko ang braso ni Argel around her shoulders.
"Umm... Why not po." I blurted out and the crowd immediately squealed.
Maybe that was my jealousy speaking.
I glanced at Franki and I felt a pang in my chest when I met her eyes.
Those orbs that used to spark like a coffee under the morning sun held the night ocean that was threatening to leave her eyes any moment.
"But we're friends lang po." I tried to redeem my self but the host had other plans.
"Oh really? But from one of your PBB episodes, you also told us that friendship is the foundation of your ideal relationships," he said teasingly. And I forced a smile.
"Um... Yes, po b-but he has to earn my trust rin po."
"Don't worry, I'm not gonna give up naman agad-agad." Sky told me while looking at me with those shining eyes and the crowd squealed once again.
Tinignan ko si Franki na katabi lang ni Sky.
She wasn't looking at me this time but I saw her lips quivering, It was subtle but It was there: the pain.
Nag-iwas ako ng tingin and I decided to just shrug it off muna and put on the game face. I have to focus on my target and aayusin ko nalang later ang sa amin ni Franki. Sure naman ako na maiintindihan nya ako. That's Franki, she's understanding.
"Well, let's see." Sabi ko nalang.
The show went foggy for me after that.
Buti nalang our fans' joyful faces made me smile again,
yet it was replaced with terror nang marinig namin ang tatlong magkaka-sunod at malalakas na tunog.
"Gunshots." narinig kong sabi ng namumutlang si Gino.
