Franki saw it.
The gun and its target. Diana.
On an impulse, Franki jerked up from her seat and faced the fate that wasn't meant for her: the deep thud that was supposed to pierce her lover's skin under her left chest.
It was a critical shot, Franki knew that, but she felt no pain. Perhaps, It hadn't registered yet.
She looked back at Diana who was being held protectively by Sky.
Masayang-masaya sya na makita na may ibang willing mag-protekta kay Diana bukod sa kanya.
What hurt was that Diana failed to see what Franki had done for her as the building's power shut down, making them all blind.
Great! This is way far from my ideal parting scene.
She said lightheartedly in her mind.
Yes. Franki didn't regret it.

Kahit na buhay nya pa ang kapalit.
Everything happened so fast.
Someone blocked up the emergency exit so they couldn't get out immediately, the tires of their service vans were all punctured too. Hence running wasn't the best thing to do, It was time for defense so the guards locked the ex-housemates up in a storage room to keep them safe as they cleared the place.
They were right, It was really safe there. Except for Franki.
They didn't see her.
The light passing through the small window wasn't enough for them to see the crimson stain that was rapidly growing on the white tank top beneath her favorite denim jacket.
"Okay lang ba lahat? Wala bang nasaktan satin?" Tanong ni Wealand.
"We're okay... kami ni Kia," Gino's response as he embraced Kiara na nanginginig sa takot.
"Y-yes, okay din kami ni Diana," Sky answered while keeping Diana in his arms.
Franki, on the other hand, didn't speak.
Ayaw nya nang madagdagan pa ang pag-aalala ng mga kaibigan nya.
But her exhaustion grew faster too.
Her legs were getting tired and shaky for the pain finally found its way to torment her.
Death was something she couldn't hide from anyone but still, she hugged Argel in an attempt to keep it to herself.
Argel got confused but he reciprocated the hug as he softly asked: "You okay, Franki?"
Tumango lang si Franki sa balikat nya.
Inaninag ni Franki si Diana na nakayakap at naka-patong din ang baba sa balikat ni Sky.
