the beginning...

Omniscient Viewpoint

Diana wasn't planning to wake up.

Heck, if she could only sleep for eternity she would.

But there were things in life that would eventually wake us up to face our realities. Sometimes it was reality itself, but for Diana at this moment, It was the loud beat of PBB otso's intro----

Wait, what? That wasn't her alarm.

Diana blinked her eyes, the famous room that she had known before came blurry into view. Few more blinks and she saw Kiara having a hard time getting up from the bed across ...their pink bed...

She was back at bahay ni kuya???---

"Good morning." Diana's racing thoughts came to a halt.

It was the familiar sweet raspy voice that she hadn't heard for a long time.

Mabilis na umupo at lumingon si Diana sa likod nya at "Franki?"

Hindi sya makapaniwala. How?

Her Franki was right there in front of her, smiling and breathing.

"Um yeah? Diana?" Franki cocked her head to the side.

She looked cute and this made Diana smile but the tinge of sadness on them did not go unnoticed by the smaller girl.

"Hey... Are you okay?" Franki leaned forward.

To say that Franki got confused by Diana's sudden change of demeanor was an understatement.

As far as she could remember, Diana's eyes were burning with determination last night as she helped the boys to win the task for Wealand's birthday cake.

Now, the taller girl's eyes were different, they had a soft glimmer of longings in them and Franki couldn't help but feel bad for her.

Maybe she misses her pamilya and she wants to go home na? But it was only like.. one night ago? Franki thought.

On the other hand, Diana still couldn't believe it. Did the heavens really give her a second chance?

Her right hand went to confirm and caressed  Franki's cheek.

"Uhh.." Of course this made Franki flinch but she didn't hate it, she actually found it endearing, "Are you.. okay Diana?"

Diana nodded eagerly and without hesitation, she embraced Franki.
Oh, how she missed her Franki.

She buried her face on Franki's neck like a child and Franki couldn't bear to push her. Diana looked so lost, so scared. Especially when Franki felt Diana's tears on her neck.

"Hey.." she tenderly lifted Diana's chin with her fingers and Franki felt an unexplainable pang in her chest when she saw those stupid tears on the younger girl's face. "..What happened?"

Diana shook her head and went for another hug, tighter this time.

She had enough crying in mute that she started crying like a child: snuggling on the older girl's chest, gripping the yellow shirt that Franki was wearing as her body shudder from all the sorrow and regrets that consumed her these past few days.

The last thing she remembered was sleeping next to her grave so if this was just a dream, she prayed to the heavens not to wake her up.

Everything was confusing, but at least it happened.

It was a mixture of sadness and joy, but nonetheless, it was a relief, an open floodgate to release all the heavy raindrops that were stored inside her.

This, of course, got the attention of everyone else in the room: Kiara, Hasna, Mae, and Jamie.

Diana heard them asking, comforting her even though they didn't know which vein hurt. They used the strongest words to lift her up but Diana heard the tiniest voice the most,

It was said in a gentle whisper but it had the loudest meaning for her.

"It's okay Diana... It's gonna be okay." Franki.

And she began to believe in those words again.

How would she change the future,
or could she?
