Standing in the rain, the stairs to the helicopter dropped. Pentecost exited, followed by his guest. My mouth seemed to have dropped and air stopped travelling to my lungs as I saw Pentecost's guest. Raleigh Becket. Besides me, was the last Mark 3 Jaeger pilot. He hadn't changed a bit. Mako and I moved closer as Raleigh stood at the stairs, marching down slowly. While walking I got a better look at him and could definitely tell that he had wizened since the death of his brother, and his last Jaeger fight over the past 5 or so years. He still had his golden blonde hair although it was slightly dirty and looked like it hadn't been washed in a few weeks. His eyes where still as blue, maybe even duller from his brothers death, but in the rain they seemed to light up. He also seemed to have a bit of stubble on his face which made him look slightly more attractive. What...did I just say I am attracted to Raleigh Becket... My thoughts were pushed back again as Pentecost came and took the umbrella out of Mako's hand and he looked to me strangely and slightly confused. I shook my head, telling him it was nothing and he instantly dropped it. Raleigh then came to Pentecost's side as he introduced him.

"Mr Becket, this is Mako Mori. One of our brightest. Also in charge of the Mark 3 restoration program. She personally handpicked your co-pilot candidates." Mako's eyes glowed and shot open as Pentecost introduced Raleigh to her. "She also picked them for and alongside her sister, Kristen Ivory. She is our brightest and another Mark 3 pilot, like yourself. However she is our backup if anything is to go wrong." I nodded to Raleigh as he looked at me, then to Mako, than back to me. He lingered on me as his thoughts corrupted his mind.

"I imagined him differently." Mako said to Pentecost in Japanese. For Mako and I were adoptive sisters I picked up her national language.

"He's exactly as I remember, Mako." I told her and she turned to me.

"Hey." Raleigh called to us both with his deep, raspy voice. "Better or worse?" he said in Japanese.

"I apologise, Mr Becket. I've heard a lot about you, from my sister." Mako spoke in Japanese again and Raleigh looked tome, lifting an eyebrow.

"Like I said, exactly the same."I replied turning the conversation back into English. The four of us then headed into the building, getting out of the rain. Pentecost leading, Mako taking the umbrella's and Raleigh and I behind Pentecost.

"At ease." He cried as he walked past some soldiers. "We will tour the facility first and then Miss Ivory will show you to your Jaeger, Mr Becket." The four of us then gathered onto the elevator with pieces of Kaiju parts surrounding us.

"Wait for us, please!"

"Hold the door, please!" all of a sudden both our Kaiju experts ran to catch our elevator, screaming.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." One continuously cried as we started heading down.

"Stay back. Kaiju specimens are extremely rare, so look but don't touch, please." The other cried, waving his hands so Raleigh took the sign to move.

"Mr Becket, this is our research team Dr Gottlieb and Dr Geiszler."

"Oh, na, call me Newt." The second one called. I never remembered their names, which is really bad. Newt, as he would rather go by had glasses and was a very fast talker. "Only my mother calls me Doctor." He laughed as he took his jacket off. "Hermann, these are human beings. Why don't you say hello?"

"And I have asked you not to refer to me by my first name around others." The first one cried, taking his woolly jacket hood off. "I am a doctor with over ten years of decorated experience-"

"Ten years! I'm very sorry." Newt said, imitating Hermann. As Hermann was complaining again, Newt rolled up his sleeves to reveal Kaiju tattoo's all up his forearms.

"Who is that? Yamarashi?" Raleigh suddenly asked, looking at Newts arms. "Oh, this little Kaiju?" he pointed to the one on his left arm that kinda looked like a slug,

"Yeah, you got a good eye."

"My brother and I took him down in 2017." Raleigh explained.

"You know he was one of the biggest Category 3's ever? He was 2,500 tons of awesome." Newt asked. I chuckled slightly.

"Knifehead was bigger...." I whispered as everyone looked to each other as they listened to Newt's last few words.

"Or awful. You know whatever you wanna call it." He apologised. Hermann however was quick to butt into the conversation.

"Please excuse him. He's a Kaiju groupie. He loves them."

"Shut up, Hermann, I don't love them, okay?" Newt shot back, speaking extremely fast. Raleigh smiled at the behaviour of the two as Newt cried that he studied them. "And unlike most people, I wanna see one alive and get up close one day." The elevator then stopped and Pentecost and Mako hopped off, Raleigh tagging behind. I stepped off the elevator but waited closely for Raleigh.

"Trust me, you don't want to ." he said placing a hand on Newts shoulder, than leaving. Raleigh smiled at me as we started to work down to catch up with Pentecost and Mako. "So that's your Research Division?"

"Things have changed." I watched as Mako placed in the pin to enter our next location. "We're not an army any more, Mr Becket. We're the resistance." The door then opened to reveal the Jaegers base. "Welcome to the Shatterdome."
