Another Mark 3

*CHAPTER TWELVE PART 1*

Landing in the water with a huge thud, filled my emotions with adrenaline. Raleigh and I settled Gipsy from her jump and he looked to me, our Drift stronger then I have ever felt and holding perfectly.

"Ok, Kristen. Get ready, we about to beat up this son of a bitch." He said.

"Oh, yes we are." I replied,smiling. We watched as the Kaiju by the name of Leatherback observed us.

Leatherback then charged at us and we heard his loud cries. He came head on and we punched him arm,flipping him to the side slightly. The Kaiju had its back to us so we grabbed some of the pads that were sticking out of him and was pulling her back. We then found what I think was the technology blaster thing that caused our facility to lose contact.

"Is that the dampener?" I said aloud. Raleigh grunted and together we pulled it off, throwing it away to be swallowed by the ocean.

"Maybe." He replied. As we were more focused on the dampener thing,Leatherback took advantage. He wrapped his gorilla like arms around Gipsy's waist and crushed her back, causing us to be thrown around in the hull. I felt Leatherback spin us around and then release us, throwing us away. We seemed to float for a while before crashing down with a hard landing.Smashing on multiple things and rolling over to bring ourselves back up. "You good?" Raleigh questioned, gripping onto some shipping containers.

"Yeah, peachy!" I cried, annoyed. We both grunted as we came to a stop. "Jeez, why was that so, so-"

"So what?"

"Rocky?" I laughed. Raleigh joined to and we both looked up to see Leatherback climbing out of the ocean and coming towards us.

"Cause,"Raleigh started and we watched as the mighty Kaiju started to run, "we're in a Jaeger!" he screamed. We then started to run too, ready to charge head on into the beast. "Come on, lets do this together!" he yelled as we jumped into the air, flying. We drew back Gipsy's fist and we punched the Kaiju just as we came on impact, knocking him hard. We took our spot on the ground, standing and weren't going to make the same mistake twice. Taking advantage we grabbed Leatherback by one of his pads on his head and punched him, hard. We drew back again and we uppercut, painfully. Causing the beast to tumble. We pulled back our arm again. "Elbow rocket!" Raleigh cried as we had our right arms in position. I watched as our monitor wrote in big red letters and our AI said, 

"ELBOW ROCKETS ENGAGED"

"Now!"he instructed. Our elbows jolted as Gipsy activated the elbow rocket. I felt my elbow then being pushed by such force and hit Leatherback in the face for the third time. The good thing about this punch was that we got him right on a spot between two of his pads, knocking him back harshly. He crashed into more shipping containers and we watched him grab a crane to use as a weapon.

"Lookout!" I cried and I held up Gipsy's left arm. Dragging it into the ground,Leatherback pulled harder and it caused me to lose grip. Raleigh and I where thrown back and toppled onto the ground. Quickly getting ourselves up I got an idea. "I got an idea!" I yelled to Raleigh. He grunted, agreeing for he knew what idea I had. Grabbing a few shipping containers in each of Gipsy's hands we got up. Stepping towards Leatherback, we punched him in the face. As he regained himself we put my idea into action, smashing the two handfuls of shipping containers into each side of Leatherbacks head. He then roared in our face and we punched him again with the remainder of the containers in my side's hand, knocking Leatherback over again. We watched as he got up and broke a container with his mouth, obviously getting pissed. We then ran up behind him and locked him in our arms.

"Hang on, Kristen!" Raleigh cried as he grunted in effort. I too grunted as he held Leatherback tightly. Keeping our grip strong we turned around, throwing Leatherback just as he did us. He fell on the containers and got some fire in his face from some reactions. He then stood up and roared again, lifting his fists up and slamming them down. He then leaned forward in a challenging like way and roared louder and angrier. I have to admit, Leatherback is me when I'm angry. He then started running once again towards us harder then before. For we didn't expect the hard impact we where pushed back by the weight of the creature. He knocked us into things, breaking things as he did so. "Plasma Cannon, now!"Raleigh instructed. We moved our right arms back and we activated the cannon. 

"PLASMA CANNON ENGAGED." Gipsy's AI confirmed. Raleigh and I then moved quickly, one shot, two shot, three shot.

"Empty the clip! Empty the clip!" Raleigh cried as we continued to demolish the Kaiju. Five shot, six shot, seven shot, eight shot, nine shot. I could feel more weight being placed on us as we shot at the creature. I watched as we blew out his guts and how we blew off one of his arms. With the beasts final roar we shot three more times, holding the beast as it slipped from our arms. We then came to a stop as the Leatherback stopped moving. Unhitching our cannon and throwing the creature off of us we felt its thud under our feet. Placing the cannon away we looked at our work. The Kaiju was missing half of its chest and an arm with its guts spilt everywhere.

"Let's go get the other one." I sighed, looking to Raleigh. He turned to me and nodded, smiling.

"Nice job." We then both started to walk away from the dead carcass when Raleigh cried, "Wait." He looked to me. "I think this guy's dead. But let's check for Pulse."

"Alright." We turned around and pulled our cannon out again. Four shots and an explosion later I verified our result.

"No Pulse." He smiled at me and we headed off again.

"Hang on I got another idea." I said, halting the Jaeger.

"What is it?" Raleigh asked.

"Lets get a boat." Raleigh laughed as he reviewed the rest of my plan and before long we headed back into the water to fetch a boat.
