The Hogwarts Express whistled with a puff of steam as students from each year piled on. The sun shone brightly, warming the top of her head and yet it did nothing to melt the ice that had collected around her broken heart. Deep purple rings cradled sunken eyes that seemed to have lost their spark.

"Anything on father?" Her voice was tired, highlighting the insomnia.

He shook his head, white-blonde hair glimmering in the sunlight as he tentatively reached out a cool finger to graze the scab that littered her cheekbone. His lips pursed into a thin line, as he frowned: "None yet. Though it won't be long until he's stuck in Azkaban too."

"I'm sorry, Draco. I wish things could have been different."

"They could have been." The boy snapped before sighing roughly. "Why did you have to get involved? Why couldn't you have just left things alone?" Cold grey searched their reflection before he ran a hand over his face: "How am I supposed to protect you from this?" Nova knew that no matter her response, her brother would not understand. She wasn't even sure that she did. And so she simply shook her head helplessly. "You know that you can't come home, right?"

The youngest Malfoy's voice wobbled as she replied: "It would be the first place He looks." Emotion brimmed in her eyes as she cleared her throat and pulled a crumpled letter from her pocket. "Could you give this to Mother, please? And tell her that I'm sorry."

As Draco nodded, the train whistled; calling for his attention once more: "Where will you go?"

"It's better that you don't know." Her answer was gentle and held a certain vulnerability, even as she smiled falsely and prodded his forehead with her index finger, explaining: "Weak mind." Her twin's playful scowl turned dark as he spotted the very person that he had grown to blame for the events over the last year.

"Potter had better hope he isn't alone on that train because I'll kill him." The words hissed from his lips, twisted with powerful venom. However, the light returned to his eyes as his sister placed a cold hand on his arm. Returning to her, he took her face in his hands: "I will come and see you. When you are safe, send your patronus and I will find you." Nodding, the girl wrapped her arms around him as if the contact would pull her from the depths of the ocean in which she was drowning. "I'll always find you."

He promised.
