LORENZO CASTELLO HAD always been a computer geek.

That had been the reason why his identity change had been so quick and efficient. He could hack everything and he was very careful enough not to leave clues behind. He hadn't deleted anything about his former life, he knew people would get suspicious if they noticed everything about him gone but he did add his new identity in everything to make it believable that Adam Harrison existed.

He had thought about staging his death or something so that no one would look for him but he also realised that his father or his brother would do anything to figure out the cause of death – if they did so, they would quickly notice that it would be fake. He thought about making it look like he jumped in a river or mountain or something but knowing his family, they would search it all and when they wouldn't be able to find his body, they would do whatever they could to find him.

So, he had decided to do something else.

Instead of making it seem like he was dead, he had left a small note on his bed back at his hotel explaining that he would be going on a trip to help with his grief. He didn't mention where he would be going but he did say he left his phone and everything else behind because he wanted some privacy. He also didn't mention when he would return but he did say that he would try to mend his family once more when he would – that was something his father definitely would buy.

He knew they would believe it because of his break down the day his family died. They wouldn't believe he left the country to live a normal life in the United States. No one would believe the son of one of the most dangerous and powerful mafia dons in Italy left him for good because of his terrible life choices and decisions. No one would think Lorenzo would leave forever. And he was glad because he needed that somewhat permanent break.

He knew that after a few years they would start looking for him but he knew they wouldn't be able to find him that easily – not when he had hacked into the security computers of the airport and caused a malfunction that caused all the cameras to shut down. He knew they would find it suspicious but it would take a lot of time to actually find him – or at least that's what he hoped.

After a twelve-hour flight, which he mostly spent sleeping to avoid getting jet-lagged, he had finally landed in California, USA. He had also searched for a few small apartments in San Francisco and he had found a few good ones but to check them out, he would have to call the owners and since he had no phone, he would first have to buy one. So, for the first few nights there, he had to sleep at a motel.

He hadn't really cared though; he had been glad to even leave Italy undisturbed.

It had taken a while for him to find the perfect place and a job to get some income since he knew the money that he had gotten from his safe wouldn't be enough to provide him everything. After sleeping in different motels every night for a month, he had finally found a small apartment in a block of flats relatively close to where his new job was located – well, jobs to be specific.
