HIS HEART WAS beating fast, his throat felt extremely clogged and his whole body was sweating so much he felt the need to shower again even though he had just gotten out of the bathroom. Nerves flooded his senses and all he could do was pace in front of his bed where his outfit – chosen by none other than Amalia herself – was placed in a very neat pile.
She had chosen Lorenzo's favourite and most comfortable black jeans and paired them with a white fitted T-shirt that showed off his biceps and chest and then, she gave him a denim jacket to put over it along with his surprisingly white sneakers. Now, if he had been back in Italy and was to take Gia on a date there, he would have taken her to his favourite roof-restaurant in Rome and his clothes would have been completely different; like chinos, polo shirt, blazer kind of different.
He still hadn't gotten dressed though, the small white fluffy towel he had recently purchased was tightly wrapped around his waist since Ryan was still running around his apartment to check him and get all the stuff he needed before he left to set up. They would leave together; Lorenzo would go meet with Gia while Ryan would drive to the beach to set up with Amalia. He was extremely grateful of his friend and even though he had no idea as to how to express his gratefulness, he somehow knew Ryan understood.
Maybe it was his smile or the glint in his eyes but Lorenzo knew he understood and that was enough.
"Are you done getting dressed, it's almost eight!" Ryan's voice reached his ears and he looked up from where he was making a hole on the floor with his eyes to meet his friend's slightly panicked ones. "Fuck, what are you doing? Get dressed already, man! Gia is probably already waiting for you!"
Lorenzo's eyes were wide, "I'm panicking!"
"No shit, Sherlock,"
He gave him the stinky eyes, his palms sweaty and his breath uneven, "This isn't helping!"
"I know," he smirked before he gave him a wink, "But I'm known for my unnecessary comments,"
Lorenzo couldn't help but roll his eyes. How he could be both annoyed and nervous at the same time he had no idea! His feelings were all over the place and for some reason he was acting like a little teenage girl on her first date. This wasn't his first date – and he certainly hoped that it wasn't his last too – but he couldn't help but be more nervous than anything.
Usually, he would wear a cocky grin, girls seemed to love and he would be sure of his every move but right then, Lorenzo was reconsidering his outfit – his fucking outfit!
"Hey, Adam. Look at me." When he finally stopped glaring at his clothes, he met his buddy's eyes "It's just a date and it's with Gia. I'm not saying this to offend her or anything but... Listen, what I'm saying is that she is very simple; she doesn't expect a fancy dinner at a fancy restaurant. She just wants to enjoy herself with you – not too much enjoyment though, this is your first date," He gave him another wink making Lorenzo punch him on the stomach in return.
