"He said, one day you'll leave this world behind, So live a life you will remember. My father told me when I was just a child, These are the nights that never die. My father told me"
The following days Lola speant most of her time training with the officer she had been paired up with. At first, She couldn't stand it one bit but, after everyone in school became obsessed with the musical, she began to find it as a sort of escape; she did not want to run around the halls singing and dancing.
It was a weekday and she should've been in school but she couldn't take one more second hearing aboutthe stupid musical, so she stayed home. Her dad had always come and gone doing random things so she had assumed that he wouldn't even notice. However, today happened to be the one day he was still home.
"Lo? Shouldn't you be at school?" Blake Carter called put to his daughter with a frown on his face as she exited her room. Lola froze on the spot and scrunched her face up, silently cursing her luck before turning around to face her dad with a sweet smile.
"Technically... yes. But everyone's so busy with the musical now so we don't do anything in class" she quickly explained. Her dad raised an amused eyebrow at her as he looked up from his newspaper.
"You're not helping with the musical this year?" he asked. Lola sighed in relief, grateful that he didn't seem to mind too much that she had ditched school and was nt forcing her to go back. However, once she heard his question, she scoffed. "Are you kidding me? After what happened last year? No way in hell" she stated.
Blake Carter smiled sadly at his daughter and nodded in understanding. "Well, how about we have a long overdue father-daughter day then?" he asked as he closed the newspaper in his hands and left it on the table next to him.
A grin spread across Lola's face at this; she hadn't exactly speant a lot of time with her dad since she had returned from San Junipero. Sure, she had been back for months and she saw her dad every day, but with the drama with the Serpents and the Gargoyles following everywhere she went, she had no time to actually spend a day with her dad.
"Yes!" she exclaimed as she launched herself forward into her father's arms with a smile on her face. Her dad flinched slightly from the impact but was quick to recover and return her hug.
