Meadows scheduled a trivia night for the weekend which Melanie invited herself to. Generally, Meadows only invited the top minds in the school's scientific community, but he allowed Melanie to visit after she pestered him long enough. To Melanie's luck the other attendees did not stay long after the game had ended, which gave her free time with the professor. She led the last visitor out of the house, locked the door, then cornered Meadows in his living room.
"What the hell are you doing?" Meadows asked as Melanie seductively rubbed her finger down the front of his shirt.
"What's your deal with this Kyle guy? Is he threatening you? Are you lovers?"
Meadows shoved Melanie's groping hand away. "Kyle is my nephew from out of state. He ran into some issues at home and I offered to take him in."
"He was the only survivor of a massacre. A mystery the police are still looking into."
"Kyle was a victim that night. There's nothing more to it, so drop it. And please stop stalking us before I have to report you to the dean."
Melanie stood up and snatched her bag from the table. "I can't drop this when there is a huge story here. You're both hiding something and I'm going to find out what it is. At the very least, I'm sinking my teeth into your nephew."
Meadows ushered Melanie to the front door and out onto the porch. "You have problems and there are free counselors to help," Meadows said, slamming the door.
