Even with Kyle gone from the campus, Dr. Meadows refused to be seen outside of his classes. Melanie snuck into his lessons when she could. However, she needed to pass her own classes and was limited by how often she could watch Meadows in the lab and going to his house was pointless. Harambe would answer the door each time, and each time he would turn Melanie away. So, she decided another visit to Dr. Nylon would be necessary.
Melanie found Dr. Nylon's address online and went to visit. Nylon let her in and she nearly gasped out loud. In place of the decrepit woman she had seen in the diner was a youthful looking woman, free of wrinkles, with a chest any teenage girl would envy, her hair like a horses mane, and her voice was clear like fresh spring water.
"Dr. Nylon?" Melanie inquired.
"Yes dear, it's me," the strangely beautiful woman replied.
"Um, I- I came here to ask you about Dr. Meadows."
Dr. Nylon laughed. "He's washed-up dear. There's no need to bother with him. He might as well be dead."
"Does your change of attitude toward him have anything to do with... this?" Melanie asked, eyeing Dr. Nylon up and down.
"Look hun, things change. People change. You wouldn't believe what's happened to me, and you shouldn't bother yourself with guesses. I'm leaving soon and maybe after I'm gone you'll know everything. For now, just leave it be."
Melanie couldn't just let it go. She went home and emailed Dr. Meadows, asking about why he was ignoring everyone and where his relationship stood concerning Dr. Nylon. She got an immediate reply. "Dear Melanie," the email read, "This is none of your business. I'm looking into getting a restraining order against you. Mind your own damn business." Melanie was distraught for only a short time because she received an email from Dr.Nylon later that night. The letter stated that Nylon had left campus to pursue a career in modeling and that she was to send, when she found time to compile all of her information, a follow up message detailing all of Meadows' secrets.
