Melanie went to Dr. Meadows lab the next day after classes were done. Harambe led her to the backroom of the lab where Meadows' top experiments were conducted. The room was sealed off from outside light and smelled of various man made chemicals. The back and sides of the room had stations with glass windows with arm slots in which various tests were performed. The center of the room was filled by tabletops arrayed with various flasks and burners. At the far end of the room was Meadows, hunched over his phone which cast a white glow onto his terror stricken face.

"I'm guessing you've heard about Kyle's involvement with the statue," Melanie said as Harambe left the room.

"If people find out I'm related to him, there will be nonstop protests outside of my house and the lab," Meadows answered, setting his phone down.

"Just turn him in then."

"I don't know where he went, and I don't care. He sent me an email, and that's the last I want to deal with him," Meadows said, pointing to a computer across the room.

Melanie woke the computer and opened an email that was minimized. The email was sent from a "R@geMa$t3r" and simply read, "Get FuKt." There were no other emails from him, and no replies. Melanie quickly forwarded the message to herself while Meadows looked defeated in his chair. Then, without saying a word, Melanie slipped out of the lab, and hurried to the newsroom.

Some tech nerd, who Melanie knew as Geek, was sitting at the newsroom computer by himself. He awkwardly waved at Melanie, as he normally did knowing she would not respond. This time, however, Melanie decided to look at him and smile. She rubbed his side then reached over his shoulders and opened the email she forwarded to herself.

"Tell me where this email originally came from," she whispered into Geek's ear.

He went to town on the keyboard, and as if he were a robot himself, ran through programs at lightning fast speeds. When he was done he nervously said, "It was sent from Dr. Meadows' house around four this morning."

Melanie smiled to herself and thought, Oh yeah, I'm getting into a real news team once I solve this cover up.
