"God, I love him already." Nikki let out a sigh, "Well, I guess fate just wanted us to be together." He gestured for Tommy to sit beside Mick, wanting to sit by Vince.
"Man, you really are gay for him." Tommy rolled his eyes.
"NO I'M NOT."
"Might as well just bend over now and save yourself the trouble." He grinned at him obnoxiously.
"STOP IT!"
"Gay, gay, gay, gay!" He chanted, mockingly.
Nikki leaned over the table and slammed his fists against it, on the verge of bashing a nearby bottle of Jack Daniels into his head, "I'M NOT FUCKING—"
Vince came up behind him in the midst of his shouting, "Hey Nikki!"
"VINCE HI!" He shouted out of shock, "Sorry about that, here, uh, sit down."
"Why are you yelling?"
"I told you, Tommy is fucking stupid." Nikki shot him a glare, signaling that he successfully got under his skin.
Vince looked at Nikki, then Tommy, then Mick, then at Nikki again in disbelief.
He reluctantly took the seat next to Nikki.
"Oh, hey, um, do you happen to be Vincent Wharton?" Tommy asked.
"Wait, whoa, Thomas Bass?" Vince cried, "My gosh, I knew you looked familiar!"
"You two know each other?" Mick piped up.
"Yeah, we went to the same high school." Tommy explained.
As they reminisced on their time in school, Nikki found himself lost in thought.
He really did like Vince. But, did he like him too much? He was worried he did.
Nikki wasn't attracted to men. No, he only interested romantic relationships with women. And he was one hundred percent sure he was straight. Maybe his mind was just tricked by Vince's feminine appearance, with his blonde hair framing his face.
The reason Vince had left was to retrieve his shirt, and Nikki wished he hadn't. And it was bothering him.
Maybe it was just this one off thing. Soon these feelings would fade, and Nikki's feelings would go back to normal.
His pondering was interrupted by Vince, his eyes were flickering with hopeful excitement, "You're really, really, sure I can join your band?"
"Yeah, of course." Nikki tried to keep his voice soft and calming, "So far as we know, you seem like a really great guy and you have a really beautiful voice."
"You think my voice is beautiful?" He squealed and threw himself onto Nikki pulling him in for a hug, pinning his arm to his side.
Flustered and caught off guard, Nikki looked at Tommy for a hint of what to do. Of course, he mouthed back at him, "Gay."
Vince pulled away, sitting upright, "Sorry! That just made me really happy!"
Nikki wanted to say something like, "I like making you happy." But instead he said, "No problem."
Their conversation went on and they discussed basic band things, such as who played what. Then Vince asked what the band's name was.
"We don't have a band name yet." Nikki explained, "We've got a few ideas but nothing's official."
"What are your ideas?" Vince requested.
"Well I think the band name should be Christmazz, but no, because Mick doesn't like that."
"We're not a bunch of little kids, Sixx." Mick scolded him.
"I like Christmas!" Vince exclaimed, "It's my favorite holiday!"
Tommy shot Nikki a weird glare.
"Motley Crew makes way more sense." Mick protested.
"I agree with Mick," Tommy added, "Because he's a lot smarter that you."
"You probably don't even know what motley means." Mick scoffed, "Use it in a sentence."
"Okay, fine! Motley is a stupid name for a band." Nikki crossed his arms and attempted to stare Mick down.
Then he felt Vince's hand on his arm, "Can you guys not fight? The real reason I'm leaving that band is because the drummer and the guitarist keep fighting. I don't like it."
"Alright."
They continued talking. Whenever Vince would join the conversation, it became clearer to Nikki that he wasn't exactly rockstar material. Just looking at him, Nikki already had a list of things to improve.
He had absolutely no clue where to even begin with changing him. He really wanted Vince in the band, but was worried he wouldn't fit in.
He was doing this for Vince's benefit. Not for his own.
This would help him. This was the right direction to take.
"You know what, Vince?"
"What?"
"Why don't you come over to our house Tomorrow?" He offered.
"I'd love to!" Vince squealed, "What's your address?"
Nikki leaned over and whispered where, like they were schoolgirls sharing secrets.
Then Nikki imagined Vince in a short skirt and a school uniform and got distracted.
The second chapter of this book is here!
Fun fact: I actually chose this idea because all the other ones involved Vince as the main antagonist. I really like him, I don't know why that happens.Seriously, look at this man.
He's adorable. Yet slightly deranged...
Thanks guys for all the early praise this story has gotten. I appreciate every comment and read each one even though I may not reply to every single one. It makes me feel a lot more confident about this new thing.
