"NIKKI!"
A sense of panic shot through his sleepy mind at the sound of Vince's panicked cry for his name, "WHAT?!"
"There's a thunderstorm." Vince whispered, frightened. Then a bolt of lightning struck, sending a flash of light pouring through the window and the sound of thunder piercing a nighttime silence. Startled, Vince bolted across the room and jumped straight into Nikki's arms, trembling.
"A-are you afraid of thunder?"
"Uh—" He could hardly speak, he was shaking violently, "Uh-huh..."
"Oh no sweetie, don't cry. Don't cry." He could hear the falling drops of the deluge hitting the roof noisily, "It's just thunder; you don't need to be afraid."
"Yeah, well I want to be afraid." Vince snapped, then another bolt of lightning struck and he let out a startled yelp and cowered into Nikki's embrace, "No I don't! No I don't!"
"It's okay Vinnie, it's just noise."
"Well it's a loud, scary noise."
Another bolt struck accompanied by rolling thunder for several seconds, this time knocking out the power, the dim lamp Vince used as a night light went dark. He let out a shocked wail.
"Calm down, sweetie." Nikki reached out into the dark and grabbed his hand, feeling Vince squeeze it tightly, "I'm right here."
"It's... so dark in here..." He wailed, shifting closer to Nikki. He heard Vince sniffling and whimpering.
"Don't worry, we're fine." He could make out Vince's outline and grabbed his face to wipe his tears away, "It's gonna be okay."
"I-I don't like the dark..." He sniffed, trying to quickly get rid of his tears.
"Let me go get a flashlight." He climbed out of bed, releasing Vinnie's hand. He let out a scared sob and Nikki heard the shuffling noise of bedsheets rubbing together as Vince frantically groped for his hand. Yet he was too far to reach.
He flickered it on, "I'm gonna go get Mick and Tommy. Wanna come?"
Vince darted up beside Nikki and grabbed his arm.
They walked in the dark to Tommy's room.
"TOMMY!" Nikki shouted at the closed door, "VINNIE AND I ARE COMING IN. YOU BETTER NOT BE GETTING FUCKED BY MICK IN THERE."
There was an interlude of silence before Tommy opened the door.
"I fucking wish." He rubbed his eyes, "What?"
"The storm didn't wake you?" Vince asked, peeking around Nikki's side.
"Bitch I sleep like a fucking rock." Tommy groaned, "What storm?"
They heard a clap of thunder. Vince squeezed Nikki's arm tighter, it was beginning to hurt
"That one, dipshit." Nikki turned the flashlight and shined it in his eyes.
"Get that thing out of my face, you little bitch." Tommy shielded himself from the light using his hands.
"We were just checking on you." Vince peeked around Nikki's side as he cowered behind him.
"Hah, good luck checking on Mick." Tommy laughed.
"Why don't you do it?" Nikki scoffed.
"Alright!" He strutted across the hall and directly into Mick's room, "HEY MICK, WANNA FUCK?"
