Mark enters the bedroom to find Ally laying down. He slips of his shoes and lays down next to her. She wiggles over to give him room.
"You know these beds aren't big enough for both of us." She said, in a sleepy voice. He pulled her close to him, giving her a kiss on the back of her neck.
"There is plenty of room, we just have to snuggle." He said holding her close. She is happy to sleep in his arms, she has had some of the best sleep of her life this way. "So what do you think of my mom? I see you two were getting along." Mark said.
"She's very nice, but did you have to leave me alone with her, after only just meeting her? You totally bailed on me." Ally said. She sounds annoyed to Mark, but he laughs.
"Totally bailed? What are you a teenage surfer? I didn't bail on you. Besides you seemed comfortable with her, and I wanted to talk to my dad alone. I probably won't get that chance once my brother and sister get here later." He said. Ally knew she had interrupted something earlier.
"What were you guys talking about when I walked in?" Ally asked. Mark brushed the hair away from her neck and kissed her. He whispers in her ear.
"You!" He said. His voice sent chills down her spine, giving her goosebumps. She turns her head so they are looking at each other. She gives him a long, sweet kiss, she turned back over and rested in his arms. Mark was so content lying there with her, in the house that he grew up in. He had come full circle and he was the happiest he had ever been.
Nancy hadn't heard much coming from Mark and Ally's room for several hours. She knew they were very tired from all the traveling. Yet she was making them some food anyway. She wanted to make sure they had something to eat when they woke up. She was alone in the kitchen when Jack walked in. He gives her a sweet kiss on the cheek.
"Whatcha doing mama?" He asked. She smiled at him, after all these years together and all the hard times, they were still very much in love. Mark always loved how sweet they were together. He always wanted to find what they had.
"I'm making some sandwiches for the kids. I wonder if she likes ham, oh well I'll make turkey and ham she has to like one of those." Nancy says as she assembles the sandwiches. Jack gives her a smile.
"Nan, they might not be up soon. They may not wake up till dinner." Jack said. Nancy rolled her eyes at him.
"Well then we can have them tomorrow. So what did he tell you about her? I haven't had any time alone with him." She said. Jack knew his wife had been worried about Mark, and him bringing this girl home was all a bit much.
"He told me he loved her, and that he wants to marry her. But he wanted us to meet her, before he asked her, thought it was the right thing to do." He said. Nancy had stopped making the sandwiches, she was just staring at Jack.
"He said love?" Nancy asked.
"Yes, and I believe him. I think this girl is the entire reason he came home." Jack said. Nancy is shocked to hear these words, yet she was happy. Happy that her son had found someone that made him happy. But why hasn't he said anything about her until now. Well she knew who Ally was, but she had no idea they were romantically involved. Her mind was reeling.
"Well I guess I'm gonna have to get to know this girl." Nancy said. Jack laughed,
"Just take it easy on her honey, we just got him back don't push him away." Jack said. Nancy gave him a dirty look, the last thing she wanted was to chase him away again.
"Hey that's not gonna happen, besides she does seem very nice. Not to mention she is so gorgeous." Nancy said. Jack nodded and turned to go back to his workshop. "I'm just gonna take a quick peek to see if they are awake." Nancy said, as she started towards the stairs. Jack was almost outside when he heard her.
