It's been two weeks. Two weeks since her life came crashing down. She's gone completely numb, and why wouldn't she have? There's nothing left for her, Henry spends most of his time with his real mother, no need to be with the woman who raised him. She hasn't left her home since that night. There's no point in trying anymore. Or that's what she has been telling herself all morning, deciding if she should even register the effort of getting out of bed. A knock at the front door answers that question. Who on earth would be here, don't they know this is the home of the Evil Queen? She slips on her bathrobe and heads down the stairs into the foyer for the door. After waiting to see if whomever it is will just give in and leave her be (apparently not an option), she opens the door to see a shocked Snow on her door step.
"Snow? What are you doing here?" Regina asks, opening the door more, not quite enough to let Snow past though.
"Here to check on you, which is obvious I should have done earlier!" Snow says sweeping past her, despite any effort from Regina. Regina sees herself in the mirror for what seems like the first time since Granny's, and understands what Snow's talking about. She's lost weight, a lot of it, dark circles cradling her dark brown eyes, her skins gone pale, she looks like death. "No one's seen you in weeks, we were beginning to worry you'd... harmed yourself."
"It's a waste of their time." Regina snapped, "As you can see I'm perfectly fine, so please leave me be."
"You are not fine, and don't try making me leave, that Evil Queen Facade hasn't worked on me in a long time. Now, I've brought supplies to make dinner, David should be along in a couple hours with Emma and Henry, that's plenty of time for you to go shower and get ready before they get here. I'll be down here cooking if you need anything."
Regina was shocked; no one had ever offered to do anything for her before, not even after Daniels death. "Why?" was all that Regina could manage to say.
"You're family, Regina, no matter what you'll always have us here." Snow stated plain as day. Regina couldn't believe that they felt that way, no one ever had before.
"But.... I'm evil... no one should want to be around that and I certainly-" "You are not evil Regina," Snow said cutting her off mid-sentence, " I've seen what this life has had to throw at you and you still continue to fight it every day. There are so many out there that love you Regina, you just have to open up and see. I still stand behind what I said all those weeks ago and Robin.......well that's a conversation for later."
Robin? What on earth does he have to do with anything anymore? He left her. She killed his wife (technicalities) and he left. What more could he have to do with her? Regina nods at these statements, chocking back the tears keeping her vocal chords hostage. She then heads up stairs to her bedroom, closing the door behind her. Tonight she was going have dinner with her family.
----------------------------------------
On the other end of Storybrooke, sat Robin on a fallen log, the fallen tree where he and Regina shared their first kiss. He finds himself here more often than he should be, but it's the only place that's truly theirs. The only place he has access to at least. He can still remember her smell, apples, cinnamon, and something he can only label as Regina. He misses that sent almost as much as he misses the woman who possesses it. He's been waiting for two weeks, two annoyingly long weeks, for Marion to adjust to this new life, and she adjusted surprisingly well. Just like his Marion to prove him wrong. Except this isn't his Marion, the one he remembers. Of course she's the same person he remembers, but he's not the man he remembers, and she sees that, trying to change him into something he no longer is.
He's here once again trying to figure out a way to explain to Marion that, in the lightest of terms, it's over. As he's processing these various numbers of thoughts a voice from behind him speaks, though he's known she was there for quite a while now. "I always wondered where you've been sneaking off too in the middle of the day, I always assumed to Granny's."
"Looks like you've found me. Marion, we need to talk. Please, come sit." This was it, the moment of truth; he's going to get Regina back, for good.
"Marion, I've not been completely honest with you these last few weeks. I always told myself that I would go through hell and back just to hold you one more time, and for years this was true. And now I have you back. To know that Roland will finally get to know his mother, not just know of her, makes my heart fill with joy. However Marion you have to realize, it may have been mere days for you, but I've gone years, I've moved on, I've learned to love again, and I've broken her heart. I have been here to help you adjust but I'm just not the same man I used to be anymore, I can't go on pretending to not love her."
Marion sits in silence. After a few drawn out moments she speaks, "Who is this woman that has stolen your heart?"
And here's where life gets even worse. "The queen... But she prefers Regina now a days...."
"THE EVIL QUEEN???? Robin how on earth could you fall for such a retched woman?"
At this, Robin loses it, he cannot, WILL not, let his soul mate be talked about in such a demeaning manner. "She has changed Marion, it's been thirty years and everybody deserves a second chance at happiness, no matter what their pasts have looked like. I'm sorry Marion, but she is my true love, soul mates. I can't outrun my fate, I'm in love with her." And with that being said he runs, doesn't even listen for a response, and runs as fast as his legs will carry him to The Mills Mansion.
