*NEXT DAY*
Rushing through to the doors of the BAU I couldn't help but think about tonight. Where are we gonna go? should I dress nice? as thoughts ran by I accidentally bumped into somebody while getting in the elevator. I looked up to see Reid
"Oh hi Reid, sorry for you know um bumping into you?" I stuttered
"Its no problem Cynthia, did you know that approximately you bump into 23 people getting into an elevator every 3 months?" Reid spoke, not as quite as yesterday
"Actually I did, say did you know that there are exactly 300, 976 people with the last name Reid?" Now this was my type of conversation I love to shoot off facts.
Just then the elevator doors opened and we started walking out.
"No, I actually didn't know that." Reid said looking stumped
"Wow what does Reid not know?!" Morgan exclaimed while turning the corner and falling in step with us.
"He didn't know that there are exactly 300, 976 people with the last name Reid" I said matter of factually
As we walked into the round table room both Reid and Morgan had a surprised look on their face. I didn't have any class today so I could stay the whole day and try to crack this case.
At the end of the day we ended up catching the unsub, Such a creepy man he was. He was doing horrible things to these people because after a failed pregnancy his wife left him for another man. The woman represented his wife and the men the guy she left him for. He placed them in the park because he thought that it would bring back his unborn child. Thank goodness we caught him when we did because his next victims would have been his ex-wife and her now husband.
Late on our date because of the case we were now in a 24/7 diner drinking coffee waiting for our food.
"Look Cynthia I'm really sorry that we couldn't do what we planned earlier, I swear I had reservations and everything" Morgan rambled
"Look Morgan.."
"Call me Derek since were not at work"
"Derek this is a wonderful date, last minute yes but still wonderful. Just in case you didn't know I LOVE diners!" I joked
We both started laughing. A few minutes later our food arrived and smelled delicious.
"Oh my gosh this smells so good, I think I'll swallow it in one bite" I said just before taking a bite of my chicken noodle soup while eyeing my roast beef sandwich. A burst of flavour invaded my taste buds.
"Wow this tastes good, not too bad for a diner" Morgan said smiling. He had burger and fries.
"So Derek what made you want to join the BAU?" I watched his face turn from happy to almost sad
"Ummm did I say something wrong? I'm sorry if I did. Wait you don't have to answer the question!" I said starting to get uncomfortable.
"No Cynthia it's OK. When I was younger my father was a police officer and died on duty. Also my cousin went missing a while ago and ever since its been a personal mission of mine to find her." Derek wouldn't make eye contact with me, just stared at his food
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know that. I wish I could do something. Um when I was younger my mom was kidnapped and beat almost to death and that is what really made me want to follow in her footsteps and make sure that that kind of thing never happens to anybody else. Just don't tell her I told you though, I think that if she wants you to know she'll tell you the whole story. Which she probably will. I can tell" I said with a smile
I saw Derek's face fade into a smile and I was relieved that I didn't ruin our date. I let out a breath of air letting the tension go with it.
The whole night we talked and got to know each other. Derek Morgan is one interesting, amazing person.
Derek dropped me off at my house and gave me a peck on the cheek before seeing me off. I felt butterflies form in my stomach while walking into my house thinking about our night.
Feeling really tired I changed into my comfy pajamas and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I entered dream world.
