Chapter 1 - daily life

Day 1 - 10:50

"Let *bam* us *bam* out! *bam* Let *bam* us *bam* out!!" Aomi was banging on the big metal plate where we presume a window was under. I myself was testing the big bolts. I knew it probably was a lost cause as Monokuma told us. Deciding to give up and give a report to the rest of the class.
"Aomi let's stop for- AOMI!!" I quickly grabbed her blood stained wrist and pulled her away from the 'window'. Seeing her tear stained cheeks and gritted teeth I knew she couldn't help herself. "Let's get you patched up" we walked to the dining hall where we had agreed upon meeting at 12 it can't hurt to be here early if we can't do anything else.

"Can I leave you for a minute or two" I asked her and her only reply was a simple nod. Leaving her I went to the kitchen where there was a first aid kit and towels and as promised I was back in a minute. Starting to clean her arm up from the blood I started examining the wound that fortunately didn't look too bad I'd say.

"That will do for now, I'll tell Tsuyune about it if you'd like. I'm pretty sure she will have a look at it!" I tried to stay cheerful as I held her injured hand gently.

"I'm sorry..." she said her hair covering her eyes. "I shouldn't have overreacted...I know you can... do it without me... for a while..." she started to sob as I pulled her into a hug from pure instinct. I myself was scared, not knowing what that bear was going to do to us.

After a while she stopped crying cleaning her face with a wet towel and thanking me. By this time the first people to arrive walked in she was calm again. Setsuya, Tsuyune, Chieru and Ryoraro all came from the direction of the dorms with a short greeting they sat down and as promised Aomi I went up to Tsuyune.
"Excuse me Tsuyune, Aomi hurt her hand and I was wondering if you could have a look at it later?" She looked a bit concerned as I said it.
"I'll do my best, I'm no doctor tho"
"Thank you" I went back to Aomi and started a conversation to get her mind of things.

11:55 - dining hall

Everyone had now reunited in the dining hall hoping that someone had found a way out.
"The windows in the south are a no go, didn't even budge" I said getting that fact out the way.

"Same in the north," Saika said getting a nod from Sou.
"But it seemed to be a door leading to what we hope is outside, it was locked unfortunately" he said.

"The gym was a dead end to, the only entrance points were the south hall and the pool" Matsuki then pointed at Takamasu. "He found a trap door for Monokuma, I don't think any of us will fit in it"

"And speaking of the pool" Sayo started.
"We didn't find anything" Mitsune finished.

"There's a bathhouse" Satoko said in a flat tone. "A locker room and sauna included" Hakuoh added.

"We didn't know where to go but we found a laundry room and a room that looks like a shop" Kimiaki stated as Bunki nodded.

"The kitchen is filled with food and the dorms have lots of clothes" Ryoraro confirmed.
"In other words we can live here for a while before it becomes critical" Tsuyune said.

"Actually I make sure to restock every day so you don't have to worry about food" Monokuma said.
"Oh that makes sense you did say you wanted us to kill each other, not just drop dead" she replied, then she seemed to realise. "Wait!! Monokuma!!"
"The one and only -actually no, I have many copies in case I get destroyed- but I'm here to tell you about a little gift!" He started, how did we not realise he was here?!

"I've prepared a unique and special gift for each of you to bring forth your murderous spirits!" He continued. "You can find them in your dorm rooms" he then disappeared from the chair he was sitting in. We were left there stunned, not saying a word. Until Takamasu rose from his chair and walked out without a word.

"Aomi" Tsuyune began. "Shall I take a look at your hand?"
"Yeah" And with that Tsuyune and Aomi left. Soon we all had departed and left to do our own thing. Not knowing what to do I decided to check the 'present' in my room, I'm definitely not going to use it but I still want to know what it is. It's alright to be curious.

The big box in the middle of my room was definitely not going to go unnoticed, with a dark red warping and a black ribbon it truly looked sinister. Being as careful as possible I opened it up.

A pair of shoes and some strange coins? They're also identical to the shoes I already have. Picking one up I notice a thin and long slit on the sole by the toe and shortly after that I find what feels like a button.
With a bit of hesitation I pressed it and *pop* a blade protruded from the shoe. With a sigh I put the shoes back in the box -but took the coins just in case- and put it in the back of the closet.

I lay down on the bed and look at my monopad. It's 14:15 a long time till nighttime. Maybe I should hang out with someone? Maybe I can think about it during a walk.

Deciding to go north I get to a door with the word 'Shop' over it and inside is some strange machine, maybe...
I take the coins I found out of my pocket and put one in and a ball rolled out. Inside was a dec of cards with Monokuma instead of the royalties. Trying again and I got a book for cake recipes.

In the end I also got:
1 diamond king piece
2 bags of Monokuma gummies
1 book I can't even read
1 pair of spy goggles that can see through walls (note: can't see through walls)
And 1 kit with colourful treads.

Back in my room I place them out on my table, with these I could probably seek out who to hang out with. Now who?

Picking up one of the items I go out the door and take out my monopad. In the kitchen, of course. Going there with long strides I reach the kitchen in no time.

"Hi Shieru, What are you doing?" I ask with a smile.
"I'm baking some cookies! Do you want something?" They reply.
"Wanna hang out?" I ask.
"Sure, I do need help decorating" they say.

Chieru and I grew a little closer today.

"Thanks for the help Mei I appreciate it" they say as we finish the last cookie.
"No problem and I got you this!" I handed them the book with cake recipes.
"Y-you're giving this to me? Thank you!" They beam. "Do you want to talk some more? I like your company," they ask.

"Well there's something I've been meaning to ask you" I start hoping they don't take offence. "Are you a boy or a girl? I don't want to be rude I'm just curious!"

"It's ok I get that a lot, I'm bout but biologically I'm male, I don't care what pronounce you use as long as you don't mean it in a malicious way" he say.
"Thanks I've just had that question bugging me all day" I reply.

*ding dong bing bong*

"It's now 10p.m as such it is officially night time. Please be quiet to not disturb those who sleep. Sleep tight everyone!"

"Guess we'll have to wrap it up here, shall we go to the dorms?" I ask as I suppress a yawn.
"No I have to clean up here a little first and thanks again for your help" he said. "See you tomorrow!"
"Yeah see ya!" And with that I leave.

Making sure my door is locked I just have enough energy to take my shoes and jacket off, before I fall asleep on top of the covers.
