Chapter 1 - free time event

Day 2

*ding dong bing bong*

"Good morning everyone! It's now 7 a.m thus nighttime is officially over! Time to rise and shine!"

I woke up to the awful voice of Monokuma reminding me of were I am and if it wasn't for my stomach rumbling like an earthquake I would stay in bed. What to eat, maybe toast or just some fruit on my way I thought about what would be best to start my day with.

But when I got to the dining hall I was shocked by the sight.

Shieru, Tsuyune and Sou was carrying plates of waffles, fruits and everything in between to the big table. I stood there for almost a minute before they noticed me.
"Good morning Mei! Grab a plate and eat whatever you'd like!" Shieru beamed as he went back to the kitchen for something else. Still in chock I looked at the other two.
"Why?" Was all I could ask.
"Chieru wanted to lift everyone's spirits for the day and asked us for help" Sou answer.
"And who can say no to that cutie" Tsuyune added. "Definitely not Sou" she laugh taking a grape and popping it in her mouth.
"Says the one who dragged me into it" Sou state an annoyed look on his face. By this time I had grabbed some food and started eating.

"You can admit it Sou-kun! You like 'em!" Tsuyune teased pinching his cheek. As they continued play fighting people started to pile in, first Saika, Setsuya and Aomi.

Aomi looks a lot better today and she giggles at Tsuyune as she continues to provoke Sou. She didn't seem comfortable using her right hand though as she it was heavily warped in bandages. I wonder why she had such a breakdown though and who she was talking about...

Soon enough everyone was gathered and was chatting and eating the delicious breakfast having a good time. Well all till someone hit the table making the silverware and glasses clatter.
"This is ridiculous!" Takamasu growled. "Why is everyone acting like nothing is wrong!" His statement has everyone silent, it was true... everything is wrong about the situation we are in, it's true that we act like nothing is wrong. We were all stunned to silence by his words.

"Because unlike you we are trying to make the best of the situation at hand!" To my surprise it was Aomi who spoke up. "As long as nobody kills anyone we will do just fine and someone will eventually come get us" she snarled at him. He stood there in silence.
He didn't reply, not even react, he just up and left without even looking at her muttering under his breath. In the end the rest of us resumed eating but the damage was already done and the illusion shattered.

Soon most people had left leaving only myself, Tsuyune, Satoko and Setsuya in silence. Tsuyune sighs and put her head on the table clearly bored, I couldn't blame her, there is barely anything you can do here, it would probably be another story altogether if we at least something like board games at least. Wait a second!

"I'll be right back!" I told the others as I ran to my room, getting the item that could temporarily cure our boredom and sprinted back.

"Wanna play cards?!" I asked them with a cheerful smile. We all sit down around a smaller table as Satoko shuffles the deck.

"What should we play?" She asks us.
"I only knows stress but we're to many" Tsuyune states.

"I know, how about tabbe!" Setsuya suggest, I have no idea what that is.
"How do you play?" Satoko ask.

"Simple your main objective is to gather points, first you get four cards and four cards are laid in the middle. To get points you should gather spades, the one with most spades gets 2 points. There's also treasure cards that gives 1 point each, this is all the aces, 2 of spades and 10 of diamonds," he took a brief pause to catch his breath. "To gather the cards you have to either have a similar card, like a 10 on 10, or a card that equals two or more cards on the table, oh and if you clear the table you get 1 point!" He finished his explanation with a huff to catch his breath.

"Ok I'm in!" I say the other girls agreeing. Satoko hands the cards to Setsuya and let him give them out and soon we're on our 5th round. Satoko is in the lead with 24 points, Tsuyune and me second with 20 points each and Setsuya last with 19 points. The fact we just met the day before was unimaginable as it felt like l have known these people for years.

"If you guys were trapped in a maze what would you do?" Tsuyune asked us as she cleared the board with the diamond 10 of all cards.

"I'd try to look for a way out by backtracking and if that doesn't work I'll wait for someone to find me," Satoko answer and lay out a 4.

"I'll tell you right now I'd panic and probably try to go right through it if possible," I laughed as I lay out a 6.

"Good answers but I'd say I would curl up in a ball and scream" Setsuya laugh at his own joke and takes the 6 I just laid out.

With the bonds we have started to develop there is no way we would kill each other Monokuma lost before he even started!

We all grew a little closer today!

In the end Satoko won the game and we all went our separate ways. Still it's far from the end of the day so I should probably hang out with someone and I can only think of one person when I look at the items I have. Hakuoh.

The only question is where she is. With a look at my monopad I see she is at the bathhouse lockers so that's where I'm heading grabbing the treads on my way.

When I approach her she didn't look so pleased.
"Say what you want or leave" she stated in a cold voice.
"I was wondering if we could hang out or something," I said a little sheepishly.
"I don't care, I was gonna go use the sauna but I wouldn't mind if you tagged along"

So in the end we spent some time in the sauna, it went better than I imagined.

Before Hakuoh could get out of the locker room I walked up to her.
"Here I hope you like it" I handed her the colourful thread and she looked shocked.

"How did you know these were my favourites?" She asked me.
"I didn't I just thought they'd be better off with you than me" I laugh pleased that she likes the gift.
"Either way these are actually the only brand I use for my designs" she states proudly. "Only the highest quality is deserving of my logo"

"By the way what kinds of designs do you do?" I ask her.
"Now we're talking! I mainly does red carpet suits and dresses for celebrities but I also take orders for custom made costumes for a, for most people, high price" she explains, it seems like she likes to talk about her success.
"So I guess you're pretty rich then?"

"Yes but I also donates a lot to charity, most to help children in abusive households" that actually left me in chock that was definitely not the image I had gotten of her. "I'm actually a little hungry maybe we should go eat something?"
"Yeah sure!"

Hakuoh and I grew a little closer today.

With a sigh I laid down on my bed feeling a lot better since this morning, that's right Monokuma lost, no one is going to kill anyone. I'm sure of it.

{poor Mei doesn't know Monokuma at all}
