*So life has been a little hectic recently and it has taken away almost all of my freedom so I was unable to update, but it's calmed down a bit so I will try to continue updating when I get a chance. I apologize for my absence and the lack of content, hopefully I will be able to update more frequently now, but life is to say the least troublesome so who knows. Anyway here is a little extra I've had planned out before, I hope you enjoy.*
Sakura sat on the couch reading as the sun began to set below the horizon casting a warm hue, bathing the living room. Ash had left a while ago, rushing out the door spitting out phrases like. "Gotta go." "Found a lead." "Know where he lives." and stuff like that, Sakura assumed that she had found a name on the list. Sakura didn't mind too much, she was just thankful that Ash even bothered to help, and yes this topic was still being beaten and bruised by Sakura, her insecurities getting to her. She was happy though, happy that she was where she was not back at the city up all day and night working her butt off trying to find a way to pay for her mother's medicine. If this were the case she may have ended up taking more drastic measures to ensure the payment, methods that made her queasy when she thought of them. Methods that Ash had once almost faced at the young tender age of five. Ash has suffered so much, and truly deserves much more than this, but would could she do? Nothing, nothing was the answer, a cruel one but the truth. Sakura quickly pushed away the poisonous thoughts that seemed to slither their way in like vines taking over what little sanity she had left.
'Knock Knock'
Sakura looked up from her book to the door. It was quite the plain door, white, with a peep hole, no marking on it just dirty boot marks from where Ash probably slammed it shut while her hands were full. Sakura got up and made her way to the door and peeked outside, Ash stood there, more like leaned, against the wall by the door, gripping her left shoulder in pain. Sakura could see blood slowly drip down her face and onto the dirty concrete flooring. Sakura quickly pulled open the door, startling Ash, who quickly threw on a mask of a smirk.
"Trying to break down our door?'
'Our?'
"No."
Ash's smirk widened.
"Are you sure? Because it looked to me that a little more force than what is needed to open a door was used."
Sakura glared a slight blush on her cheeks before she shooed it away and grabbed Ash's ear pulling her through the door and into the house. Ash yowled in pain and tried to loosen the grip on her poor ear but to no avail. Sakura just pinched harder and muttered like an angry mother to her fussy child, she then threw Ash into a bar stool chair that spun around. Ash made herself comfortable and soon began to spin around, as Sakura stomped off to the bathroom and came back a minute later with a first aid kit and a towel(I am so stupid that I just had to look up how to spell the word towel) and set them onto a stool next to Ash. Ash looked at the stuff then peeled off her maroon coat to reveal her bloodied grey shirt. Sakura winced when she noticed the large gash that went from her left shoulder to her mid back. Sakura then gestured for her shirt and she took it off she then used her shirt to cover her front. Sakura then went to picking out the small pieces of ruble and cloth out of the wound pausing every few seconds when she hear Ash's breath hitch.
"What happened?"
Ash huffed."B*stard had a whole army their to protect him."
"Why though?"
"Supposedly he was some son of a rich man that I've never heard of."
Sakura nodded and poured some rubbing alcohol on a cloth and began to clean, Ash yipped in pain.
"Sorry."
Silence once again fell between them, but it wasn't awkward silence, it was one of comfort. Sakura stepped back a moment to re wet the cloth when she saw something truly beautiful. The orange hue shone on Ash's face illuminating her brown hair and tan skin making it shine like bronze, Ash stared out the window her eyes off somewhere Sakura couldn't follow but where she wished she could go. Sakura smiled and continued what she was doing.
When she finished she prodded Ash off the stool and picked up her tool and cleaned them then silently put the away. When she returned to the living room Ash sat on the couch and brushed her mangy hair gently humming to herself. The tune was rather sad, as Sakura caught onto a few words but didn't pay much mind and walked over to the couch an picked up her book and began to read slowly drifting to sleep while she listened to the soft melody and the image of a beautiful bronze goddess sitting in the warm hues of the evening sun.
