The events of this chapter happens about 5 weeks later
Scott sat on the edge of his bed, staring. He wasnt looking at anything in particular, just from his lack of sleep he was pretty sure he was seeing things. His lips slightly twitched, along with his hand.
He scowled and got up, entering the living room. He checked the time on his phone. He frowned when he saw it was almost four in the morning.
Scott reached into the medicine cabinet and pulled out an orange bottle. There was one problen. It was empty. He threw the bottle to the floor, in anger.
He didnt want to damage his house anymore than he already had. So, sleep deprived Scott walked out the door.
Kicking through the autumn leaves, Scott realized he should still he sleeping. He wasnt tired though. Everything in his brain seemed to leave. He forgot where he was headed, he hasn't slept in a week and his hunger somehow just, vanished.
He continued walking through the leaves, untill an all to familiar purple car pulled in front of him. Scott growled and tried walking away but was stopped by William.
"Why are out here at this time?" He asked with concern. Scott pulled away, glaring. "I could ask you the same thing," he replies, still walking away. William left his car and locked it, following Scott.
Scott growled and looked at William, his brown eyes seeming to be on fire. "Why are you following me?" He demanded, but didnt wait for an answer. He put his hands over his head and clutched his dark hair. "Fricking," he shook his head back and forth like he was trying to get something out of it. "Shut up!"
He repeated the phrase several times before he felt a pair of hands on his wrist, pulling his hands away from his head. Scott looked up, slightly twitched and glared. "I dont need your help, thanks." He glared and rand a hand through his hair. "Did you run out of meds?"
William asked the question carefully, hoping he wouldnt upset his friend. Were they friends? Were they more than friends? Will knew that no matter what he asked, if Scott hadn't taken his pills he would probably snap. Sure enough his shorter friend glared and snapped, "None of your business!"
William rolled his eyes and took Scott by the wrist. "Cmon were going to get you more." Before Scott could object he was pulled into a purple car. He grumbled some swears under his breath. William turned on the radio which Scott, for the record, did not at all appreciate.
That is, untill a song came on. He hummed along to it, staring blankly ahead of him. Again, not at anything in particular, just...nothing. Will seemed to take notice and waved a hand in front of Scott. He didn't blink.
William arrived at the pharmacy, and Scott got out. "Stay here." He told his friend, then walked into the building. William tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, waiting. Apparently he isnt patient, because withing ten minutes he was out if the car and walking toward the pharmacy.
Scott waited in line for about five minutes, according to the clock on the wall. The person at the counter smiled at him. Scott scowled and glared. The man nodded, like he understood. "Need your happy pills?" He asked.
Scott shyly nodded and got his pills. Thing about the 'happy pills' as he called them, is that they make him forget how hes feeling. That's not very happy, but he didnt mind. Scott left and walked away, only to bump into William.
"I said to wait." Scott glared. William shrugged, and took Scott by the hand and lead him away. Scott pulled away and walked in the opposite direction. He stopped short and sighed, then turned around and got into the car.
Noticing William smiling he snapped, "Dont flatter yourself, I'm only in here because I cant walk far in the cold." William was going to explain it wasnt that cold. 68 degrees actually, but he didnt want to argue. "Take your pills." Is all he said.
Scott obeyed. He opened the bottle and put the lid in his lap. Usually hes supposed to take two, but something told him to take more than that. He popped about six or seven into his mouth and swallowed.
Will smacked him upside the head and turned the corner. Scott stared ahead, as if he hadn't felt anything. William looked ahead at the road, but still spoke. "Why in the cinnamon toast fuck did you take that many?" He asked, his voice sounding like he was trying to stay calm.
Scott just shrugged and stared blankly ahead. "Are you tired?" William tried to strike up a conversation, only to get a shrug and a blank stare. He sighed and now asked, "Are you hungry?"
Scott stared at the horizon, the sun now rising into the cloudy sky. He felt a hand being placed on his shoulder. He jumped and looked at William with a confused face. "I said are you hungry?" Will asked.
Scott just shrugged and stared ahead.
