Mel's POV

After the meeting, I was told by the director to stay in the office. I glance to Alyssa who is standing beside me. I saw her expression that she was worried. Was she thinking that i might tell her father what she done to me? I simply smile and told her to go on. I guess she got the message. She went outside without saying anything to me or to her father.

"I'm sorry for letting you stay here for a while, ms. Acosta."

"No, It's okay sir." sabi ko sa kanya. Pinaupo niya ako sa bakante upuan.

"I like to give my gratitude to you for taking care of my daughter. I can see how she change a lot. How the previous her return again." he said to me. I simply smile as a response. But there is one thing that bother me, the last words he just mention.

"Sir, if you don't mind. Can i ask you a question?" I said.

"Sure. Go ahead." sabi nito. Umayos ako ng pagkakaupo.

"Sir, when you said that "the previous her return again" what kind of person is Alyssa? Bilang ama po, alam ko alam niyo kung gaano ang kompetisyon namin dalawa bilang Academic Pride nitong school. Nung una, hindi maganda ang pakikitungo namin sa isa't-isa. Gusto ko lang po marinig mismo sa inyo ang tunay na Alyssa noon at ngayon." tanong ko rito. Mr. Heindez smile a little.

 "Alyssa is a sweet girl. Mabait at napakamatulungin na bata. Walang araw na di niya kame napapasaya ng mama niya. Namana talaga nito ang lahat ng katangian sa kanyang ina. When she was young, me and my wife made a promise in front of her that we will never keep any secret to one another. But life is not always cupcakes and rainbows." lumungkot ang mukha nito saka tumingin sa labas ng bintana.

"I ruin everything. She caught me in a place that is not a usual dating site for couples." he turn to look at me in the eyes.

"Would you believe if I told you that i'm a gay?" He seriously said to me. I was caught off guard. So this was the reason why she's living alone.

"I never thought she will saw me in that place. When i got home, she was crying. Yelling at me that I lied to her. I tried to explain my side but she's not listening. Her mom died due to heart attack because of me. Starting that, she became a rebel child. It became more harder for me to bring her old self back. But when you came to her life, everything was change." hinawakan nito ang kamay ko. Naguguluhan ako tumingin sa kanya.

"You bring her back again, Ms. Acosta and i hope you will never give up on her. I hope you will still able to guide her, stay in her side. Can you do it, Ms. Acosta? Not for me but for her?" he ask me. Naiintindihan niya ang nararamdaman nito. Mabigat talaga sa kalooban pag may isang anak nagalit sa sarili magulang. If i'm in his shoes, I might also said those word to someone that I can trust. I gently smile and nodded.

 "Wag po kayo mag-alala, sir. Di ko po pababayaan si Alyssa. Sana po darating ang pagkakataon na mapatawad niya kayo. Tanging kayo na lang ang pamilya niya. Sana di rin po kayo sumuko sa kanya." I gave him assurance not to worry, that she will handle everything. Alam ko deja vu na itong pinasukan ko pero bahala na si batmansa akin.

"Salamat. Maraming salamat, iha. Kung ano man ang napag-usapan natin, sana ay tayo lang nakakaalam. Ayoko umabot sa punto na masisira reputasyon niya ng dahil sa akin" paalala nito.
