Your love burns

Your once alleviating touch now manages to burn my skin.

Your once entrancing words now sing a lying tune.

Your once warm embrace now suffocates me.

The love that used to be my source of breath now slowly kills me.

Your kindness morphed into narcissism.

The number of times you've hurt me seems a bit sadistic.

The gentleman you once were is now a distant memory.

I mourn the death of the innocent girl I used to be.

I trusted you to catch me as I leaped into your arms.

Why did you decide to catch me but then throw me to the ground?

It was so easy for you to pretend to love me and then let me go.

The jump was high but falling from your arms hurt the most.

As I lay in this bathtub, drowning my sorrows broken in despair, I can no longer tell if my body is being embraced by the bathwater - or my tears.
