Jacob could hear Eulia's singing, the sound of her playing the guitar and the sound of the team of horses long before the Yellow Coach turned the curve of the road and pulled up to the coach stop close to the village's only tavern where he was waiting. He loved the sound of Eulia's voice. He walked to the coach and caught her bag as the coachman tossed it to him, then moved closer to position himself to assist Eulia down. She turned her back to him and grabbed the edge of the seat and foot rest and began extending her foot searching for a foot hold as she lowered herself. It was a long way to the ground, over ten feet and she was having difficulty finding a place to place her foot to safely get down."Why were you ridding on top Euly?" Jacob asked.
"It's half fare on top."
"And between her conversation and singing she's welcome up here any time," the coachman said. Eulia smiled brightly at the coachman. She squealed then laughed as Jacob simply took hold of her waist tickling her below her rib cage and lifting her and assisting her to the ground and standing her on her feet. He enjoyed touching her, loving the feel of her soft tummy. He marveled as his fingers splayed across her and he felt her belly. It had just a hint of exquisite feminine roundness and he noted the gentle flaring of her hips. Touching her was electric with sparks coursing through his body. "You've been waiting here every morning since she left Jake," the coachman teased.
"Why have you been waiting?" Eulia asked smiling coyly as she turned to face him.
"No shoes Euly?" Jacob said blushing and trying to change the subject. Eulia laughed and slipped her arm through his.
"Shoes! What ever for? I'm glad you're here."
"So I can carry your bag?" Jacob teased. Eulia stood on his feet with her arms around his neck and delivered a quick kiss to his cheek.
"That and other things! Did you miss me?" She had a devilish smile as she stood before him.
Others riding in the coach also exited after the coachman opened the door and lowered and adjusted the stairs. Some of the passengers taking the time to thank Eulia for the singing. Some were smiling and watching her flirting conversation with Jacob. She was now blushing from the scrutiny they both were receiving. Jacob had been waiting at the station daily at the coaches arrival time hoping for her return. He lifted her bag and took her hand walking her home. She had her battered old guitar slung by its strap across her back. As usual Eulia was literally bursting with energy, her gait occasionally breaking into a skip as she turned to face him as she talked walking backward still holding his hand. Her long ginger hair was tied loosely in a pony tail with numerous wild strands blowing in the breeze. Her green eyes sparkled as she described the busy city she had visited and the train ride south to return to the province then the final coach ride. Jacob watched and listened fascinated by her animated speech and enthusiasm.
"I did miss you half pint."
"I missed you too. What did you miss the most?" she asked looking innocently into his eyes with an impish smile on her face.
"Watching you run around barefoot. You have funny little feet."
"What do you mean, 'funny feet'?" she said feigning anger, then giggled.
"And I missed the way your nose wrinkles when you smile."
"It does no such thing!" Eulia said loudly then smiled at him as her nose wrinkled.
"Mostly I missed talking with you and spending time with you."
"You say the nicest things Jake. Do you say that to all the pretty girls in the village?"
"No just one special girl."
"Do I know this girl?"
"I don't think so, why?"
