"Hey 'Zuku! You ready for some training? We're using the swords again," A blond boy, looking no older than 15, called out to the greenette. He waved his hand in the air as he ran over, an excited smile spread across his face as he skidded to a halt in front of Izuku. "Mr. Fizer said that we could spar again, as long as we don't destroy the dojo. But I doubt that'd happen," he grabbed a hold of Izuku's hands, dragging him away with him towards their instructors. "Let's go! We can't let the others take away the best swords, now can we?"
Izuku nodded his head, his own smile spread across his round face. They ran over to their instructors who were handing out the swords, real ones. Izuku and Mashirao grabbed their swords and headed off to a corner, facing each other with smirks plastered on their faces. At the sound of Fizer's whistle, they started. Leaping forwards and striking, steel against steel, loud clashes and clanks echoing around the room as the other students did the same. Fizer and Lushwell went around the dojo, helping with stances and strikes as their students continued to fight around them. Izuku dodged a strike to the hip, retaliating with a strike to Mashirao's leg. He tilted the sword to the side, the blade edge facing down as the sword connected.
It threw Mashirao off balance, giving Izuku an opening as he stumbled. He lunged the sword forward, stopping it centimetres away from Mashirao's face. The smile across Izuku's face widened at the surprise present on Mashirao's. He took the blade away and laced it in its hilt. The blond regained his footing and shook Izuku's outstretched hand, a sheepish look crossing his face. They got into stance again, leaping off the ground at the sound of the whistle once more into another match. They fought again and again, swapping partners and swapping back, living every moment in the dojo. At the sound of Lushwell's whistle, all fighting ceased. Everyone gathered around, handing the swords back as they listened in to what the instructors were saying.
"You all seem to know how to handle swords now. Mr. Fizer and I have a few more weapons that you're free to try out if you want. If you want to stay training in swords, raise your hands," 6 out of the 20 students raised their hands. "Alright. You did stay here with Mr. Fizer. Everyone else, come with me."
Lushwell turned and walked off with his students in toll, heading for the weapons closet in the back. He instructed everyone to stay back as he left to grab the weapons, excited chatter leaving the students as they talked with one another. Izuku and Mashirao turned to each other, large bright smiles present on their faces as they silently cheered. Their instructor came back out with bows, spears, retractable staffs, fans, double ended scythe, karambit style knife and glaives. He carefully placed the weapons on the ground before standing tall and facing his students.
"Who here wants a long-range weapon? That's includes the bow, double ended scythe, retractable staff and spear," half of the students, including Mashirao, raised their hands. The blond took the double ended scythe, twisting it around his fingers in a skilled manner. He nodded to Izuku before heading off with another student who chose the scythe as well. Lushwell turned to the remaining students, hands placed firmly on his hips as he addressed them. "Those remaining, grab the weapon you want. If you need help practising, come see me. I don't want any of you hurting yourselves, understand?" The students nodded before grabbing their weapon of choice.
Izuku picked up 2 fans, twirling them in his hands. A soft smile plastered on his face as he walked off, waving the fans around as if he were surrounded by enemies.
Why the fans? I would've chosen the glaive or knife. You're the only one who chose the fans. Is there a reason behind this?
'People would immediately be frightened or provoked by a knife or glaive. The fans though hold an element of surprise. And you can do this with any style of fan. If you know what you're doing. The glaive and knife aren't found everywhere while fans can be sold in a variety of shops. You can even custom order one without suspicion. Want to bring a weapon with you somewhere? Bladed weapons will be confiscated on sight while fans can pass without problem. It's an easy weapon to sneak in anywhere as people would think it's just a normal fan,' Izuku mentally explained, halting in a faraway corner before getting stance. 'This is a simple technique and easy to learn. It's effective too. So, there's no problem.'
