Chapter 6
More Good Deeds
Standing out front, I awaited more of the blasts. Connel stopped firing, a bit taken back, and in a moment of shock. He had just been blasting incoming boulders and was about to be swallowed up by lava, as he also fell through the ground. Then he was here . . . somewhat confused, he had thought that he was already dead, and was trying to terminate the dead Finikins (monkey-_like aliens), before they got to him . . , if that was even possible . . . However, Gaius' attempt to save the elder meant one thing . . . they were all alive and well.
Seeing the glowing dragon balls, he looked up to where the dragon's tail carried. The huge dragon . . . from the balls . . . 'They had gotten to wish . . . but if the first wish was to bring them here, there must be two left, because the report said it could grant three wishes.
Without thinking over his plan too much, the mighty captain charged in . . , at a hurt Gaius first, for he stood in front of everyone, like some sort of guardian. The boy put up his hands to block the punch.
"Wham."
The punch was too much, and Gaius went flying to the ground.
Getting up, he forced himself, to his hands and feet.
"Wham!"
Unable to block because of the increased speed, the youth took it to the jaw.
It was broken . . . blood dripping . . .
"Wham!" "Wham . . . Wham!!"
He felt ribs breaking under the force of each punch. The young boy buckled over in excruciating pain. No one dared intervene.
Gluber darted toward but the Namekian held his hand tight in his strong grasp.
The Namek was a bit stronger, and the male Finikins were moving half their own as latter defense, placing the protection of their offspring and females first.
So no one did anything to stop Connel from passing on through towards the dragon.
"I wish for eternal life!" Connel yelled at the huge creature.
Gluber rushed over to hold his dying son. The Namekian approached, took him and placed him on the ground as if to tend his injuries.
Gluber, enrage, rushed over at Connel to punch him, but Connel dodged easily and raising his fist to give a mighty blow, let the force of his power come down with his punch.
"Bup."
Mouth open in gaping shock, Connel could not believe that that same puny boy he had just been beating to a pulp was holding onto his fist.
Slightly bruised . . . but sure enough it was him.
"Raaah!" The boy punched back, but Connel was both still too quick, and too skilled, to be beaten so easily.
"You're too slow boy . . , and how'd you recover so quickly? I thought you'd be dead by now."
"Some how . . . words aren't meant for moments like these." Gaius said raising his fists in a fighting stance.
"You're too slow boy . . . but still, if you weren't, I just wished for invincibility. How could you expect to beat me now."
I looked over to the Namekian, who seemed to know more about the dragonballs than anyone else here.
He looked back at me, and hinted for me to fight on.
Again . . . raising my fists, I (Gaius) prepared for the tasks at hand.
Suddenly, as I stared at Connel, a vision of Connel standing by the Nemzo's dead wife and child flickered like a stilled image in my mind. Immense rage flew up into my eyes, and gold aura started to emanate and to surround me. My muscles bulged, and I felt more fit, and more ready too fight than I had ever been, in my whole life.
"Wham!"
Connel flew towards me, punching me solid in the face. It did hurt, though slightly, and the force turned my head a bit . . . but . . . his punch was so much weaker. I ignored him, and looked at the gold light surrounding me. Dad had a forlorn look on his face, and I took immense pleasure from the shocked expression on Connel's face. He'd thought to deal me a good one.
'But here, here's one for the record books.' I slowly pulled back my tight fist.
"Whump!!
Connel sunk down, . . . unable to dodge, . . . unable to block, not expecting . . . the immense pain, which now threatened to throw him into unconsciousness.
Just one punch, though it felt good, was not enough to deal out justice . . , to this . . . tyrant . . . to this wrecker of homes . . . to . . . this . . .
Nemzo's family again came to the fore front of my memory as I said it . . . "Murderer of families!"
Automatically I opened my mouth, and a power ball formed.
"Gaius, no!!" Gluber yelled. If Gaius killed him, there was no going back . . , no, not to the innocent son he knew and loved.
The blast grew more powerful.
"I will take it from here." The Namekian intervened, taking up Connel's limp body. "We will keep him imprisoned, as a momento of what disgusting creatures exist in the far beyond."
Gaius paused as if to consider, and then powered down, and became his natural self.
"Your . . , your hair . . ," his dad exclaimed. "It . . . it's not its original blue anymore.
Going over to a nearby river the boy looked for his natural blue hair . . , but instead, all he found was that it was now black.
"I will wait no more!" The dragon bellowed. Make your wish, or I'll be gone!"
"What will it be Gaius?" The Namek asked.
"Are not all of the wishes gone?" Gluber asked.
"No, Connel was neither part of the party that had called forth the dragon, neither had he spoken in the correct language, so I knew that it wouldn't work."
". . . And that is why I had left him, and came to heal you."
"Are you alright son?" Gluber asked, as he tried to familiarize himself with his son having transformed.
"Yes . . . , but, before you wish us home, how is it possible that I have gotten so much stronger in such a very short time Namekian?"
"I . . . don't know . . . maybe your fusion caused you to inherit King Nemzo's abilities, . . . mixed with your own D.N.A. some how enhances aspects of your own capabilities."
"Thank you." Both father and son said to the Namek.
"We think you should go with, them." An hairy elder announced boldly. Your dragon balls have caused us enough pain and suffering . . . besides, from what we've seen, the boy . . . with the King's help . . . may just be the ideal people to help protect such a big secret. "
The other Finikins nodded in agreement. All that was left, for them to have total peace now was for the Namek, his dragonballs, Connel, and the two strangers to go.
"Well . . ?"
We didn't know what to say, but in light of how everything started, and the Namek's, strength, abilities, and dragon balls . . . it really did seem like a good idea at the time . . .
"Yes . . ." Gluber agreed, "The Namekian shall make our home his."
With one look from the Namek, the dragon took them away, and the next thing they knew, they were back on earth, where they had started out.
