Todoroki is in the waiting room and remember his conversation with his mentor yesterday.

Flashback

'Do your best Todoroki-kun,' Takeshi smile warmly at him. 'Ah,' he nodded and looked down as the former assassin looked at him confusedly.

'Hmm? What's the matter?'

'Sensei... if I don't take the game seriously,' he asked him before glanced up. 'What will you do?'

He gently flicked his forehead caused Shouto to startled, lean back and rubbed his sore forehead.

'Todoroki-kun look at me,' he looked at him. 'Just because your quirk is powerful doesn't mean you can win the game so easily.'

Takeshi scooted closer and patted his head. 'Your classmates are giving their all and you should too,' he explained, smiling when his apprentice leaned his touch. 'Being arrogant will only do your downfall and teamwork is very important as well.'

He then let out a playful scowl. 'If you don't take it seriously,' he gently bonked his head. 'I will chopped your head!'

Shouto actually smile a bit and lay his head against his mentor's chest, enjoying the scent of cinnamon and vine. 'Thank you sensei,' he closed his eyes sleepily. 'For your advice.'

'Always remember Todoroki-kun,' Takeshi keep running his hand on the teen's hair. 'Arrogance and overconfident are their greatest downfall.'

'...Can...call me... S-shouto...' he muttered sleepily. Takeshi quietly chuckles and hummed a lullaby.

Flashback

He takes a deep breaths. His dad and his siblings are here in the stadium, watching him.

With determined look, he stand up and went off to the clearing.

"Thank you for waiting everyone!" Present Mic announced as the picture of Shouto and Sero appeared on the screen. "He's good but with the plain look he can't get rid of? Hero Course, Sero Hanta of Class 1-A!"

"You don't have to be so mean," a certain teen murmured while stretching his arms.

"Really? Plain look?"

"I was too excited! Don't look at me like that Aizawa!"

"Overexcited actually," corrected Kuroshi quietly.

"Versus Todoroki Shouto of Class 1-A from Hero Course also!"

"Sheesh blondie," Shintaro talked loudly. "You said that to Sero Hanta but never at Todoroki Shouto? Are you playing favourite here?"

"Wha- I am not choosing who's who!"

"Sure sure," snorted Shintaro sarcastically.

Few people snickered or giggled and Present Mic pouted at the agent. Hein also chuckles under his breath before cleared his throat and raised his hand.

"Are the opponents ready?"

Sero nodded nervously but determined. He's not strong as his opponent and classmate but he could at least get him a hit or scratch! Todoroki on ther other side, take his fight position his mentor show him and nodded wordlessly.

Takeshi smiled at his apprentice. Fuyumi cheered at him and Natsuo waving his arms, grinning.

"Start!"

"I don't feel like winning but I don't feel like losing!" Sero said, swing his arm as a tape thrown and wrapped around his opponent's ankle.

Shouto burst his flames to shrug it off and jumped to the air with boost flames. His right hand thrust forward and few ice spikes flew toward him.

Sero dodged them while flipping his body and throw his tape toward him again.

Shouto dodged and burst his ice to the ground then slid down easily before his ice take the form of a pole. He swing the pole and managed to hit Sero's face.

"Oohh! That's gonna hurt!" Present Mic winced.

"You taught him very well," the agent said to the former assassin. "If I remember correctly, that's your move is it?"

"It is," he nodded. "I actually show few of my moves to him and taught him how to do it."

"Neverthless your apprentice's doing great!" Takuya praised.

"Go Todoroki-san!" Izuku cheered.

Shouto doing a backflip before burst his flames to blind his opponent causing him to stepped back.

"Sero Hanta is out of bounds!"

"Eh? Wha-?"

Sero looked down to see his other foot stepping on the line.

"Todoroki Shouto advanced to the next match!" Hein announced, audience behind him were cheering.

Sero sighed but smiled at Shouto who walked toward him.

"You all right?" He asked.

"Fine," he answered. "You better not loses!"

"I don't planned to."

With that, they shakes hands.

Takeshi smiling, feeling proud of him.

"Kyaa~ Shouto won!" Fuyumi squealed happily. "That's my brother!" Natsuo laughed. "Heck yeah!"

As Shouto walked to the others with Sero already went ahead, he immediately saw his mentor walking toward him.

"Sensei!" He exclaimed as he went up to him. Takeshi slowly raised his arms and wrapped around him. "I am so proud of you Shouto," he said warmly.

Shouto merely snuggled closely and looked up. "It's thank to you dad," he said. "So thank you."

Takeshi merely smile warmly at him causing his heart to swell.

'So this is what a father to...' he thought, lean against his touch. 'It's nice...'

He did not regret calling his mentor as a father. In fact, he's better than his shitty old man.

"Todoroki-san!"

They looked behind to see Izuku running toward them with wide smile.

Takeshi looked down at his apprentice and smile to see Shouto blushing and staring.

'Oh my... Shouto is in love with Izuku? Shintaro's little brother?' He thoughts silently. He let his apprentice go and watched amusedly as Shouto calmly chatted with Izuku but his face is giving away.

He chuckles silently.

'I can't wait to see this happen!'

Shintaro on the other hand, blinking before looked around confusedly.

Takuya noticed and looked at him confusedly. "What's wrong Shintaro?" He asked. "Huh? Oh nothing," he answered. "I feel like I need to strangling someone."

If only he knew.
