CHAPTER 10: CAUGHT RED HANDED

"What are you doing!", I panic.
"He's hiding something", Y/N replies.
The two guests requested a break and since we've been in here for an hour, I let go for a while. The first half of the meeting seemed fine but Mr. Hong was lacking a bit near the end, maybe Y/N was on to something.

"The things he wanted were based on improving his empire with money, he could easily use that money for something else. Maybe himself. He covers up the fact that he's putting his idols under a lot of work by saying that they don't need things like producers, (G) idle is a relatively new group and even though Soyeon can produce good music, there's no way she hasn't gained a mental problem", Y/N explains with passion.
"The time you picked up the booklet he was nervous about something, this place always has the right temperature and he shouldn't be sweating in a room temperature room. He's literally wearing a shirt and blazer, seems breezy to me. When you let go of his booklet, he calmed down and relaxed in his seat. I need to take a peek of that book".
"I'll try to buy some time but what happens if you're totally wrong, we're just wasting good time", I question.
"Would you rather gain a company that'll rip you off or gain control over a company that'll profit you more", Y/N replies.
"I guess you're right".
"Buy me some time, they're bound to come back soon", Y/N grabs the booklet and starts reading.

The two guests came in and noticed Y/N reading the booklet, they looked at each other and whispered a few things before sitting back into their seats. We continued our talk as Mr. Hong kept glancing at Y/N, the assistant was writing something on his clipboard as he mumbled something to Mr. Hong as he agreed.

Mr. Hong changed the subject and started to negotiate his demands as quick as possible, Y/N then rapidly read through the pages as I realised he was trying to end the meeting sooner so that Y/N wouldn't read something, so I kept negotiating with him.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but Mr. Hong has a meeting soon", the assistant announces.
"That's a bummer, how about we sign the contract and I'll agree to anything", Mr. Hong suggests.
"Not so fast there", Y/N interrupts.
"Page 27, Section D clause J, I am entitled to earn all of the profit that is earned when I conjoin with a company. Page 32, Section G clause A, I'm allowed to chastise employees if they don't follow rules. Page 45, Section A clause M, I am allowed to keep track of what my employees are doing. Mr. Hong you are an offender of abuse, invasion of privacy and being a scam artist, there are tons more law breaking orders you have requested therefore we will gladly call the cops on you and put you behind bars. You've been caught red handed", Y/N announces.

Mr. Hong didn't say anything but put his hands behind head, Y/N called the cops as sirens were heard rolling in. We opened the door for the policeman as he arrested Mr. Hong and his assistant, we waved them goodbye and followed them out the door seeing a group of paparazzi catching this momentous occasion.

But one thing was still stuck in my brain, what was going to happen to his employees?

"For today's news Mr. Hong of CUBE Entertainment has been recently arrested while having a meeting with Jeon Entertainment. Yesterday morning he was sentenced for 35 years in jail for abuse, fraud and inflicting hard labour, the reports say there were additional crimes but the police is still investigating. Mr. Jeon of Jeon Entertainment has homed his idols, giving them the special treatment they need and promises that they'll be treated rightfully", the news reporter says.

It's been a week since the incident but in that time I have been able to talk to CUBE Entertainment's idols, convincing them to join my company. They gladly applied and were very satisfied with the terms and conditions I was giving them, Y/N's speculations were correct as Mr. Hong was using his employees to mass produce songs to gain him money.
I hired therapists for them as they have been showing great results, some of the idols were getting better but some other idols were paranoid that someone was watching them, Soyeon explained that they were under strict surveillance 24/7 and was always kept watch when they were outside, the idols has no privacy or freedom.

I gave them an extra long break to recover as their fans completely agreed, the idols felt better when reading the support and love they were getting from the public and friends. I left them to be by themselves as I trailed back into my office, I got myself some coffee as I stopped by Y/N's office.

"You did a great job last week", I say at her door.
"Oh- Thank you", Y/N takes her earphones out.
"I'm really glad you work here", I smile.
"I'm really glad I work here too", she smiles back.
"Says... do you want to go out sometime", I came closer to her and sit on her desk.
"Depends where we're going", Y/N replied.
"It'd be just you and me, some candles, some dinner and maybe if you're interested... some hot dessert", our faces were inches apart.

"Sounds lovely", Y/N traced my arm.
"But I have somewhere to be", Y/N pushed me away.
"I didn't even say when", I pout.
"Exactly", Y/N goes back to work.

She motions her hand telling me to get out as I close the door behind me, I enter my office and sink into my chair.
"I'll have you one day Y/N, one day"
