"We can't leave in a week, we're not ready. You're not ready," I stated as Teagan told me her plan. Teagan is so frustrated, she wants the war to end.
Teagan pulls me by my arm into a small side hallway. "I can't watch more kids go through what Mattie and Pattie went through, what we're going through," Teagan mutters. I really can't argue with her. These kids don't deserve to live in a world that's not safe.
"I think you're right, but how will we ever be ready in time?" I question. "We will train all day everyday this week," Teagan responds. "Okay" I respond.
"Who is even their leader?" I question. I suddenly realized that we never even knew. "Shit" Teagan mutters. Teagan has no idea who it is. "We need to go talk to Gregor right now," Teagan demands, as she limps faster back down the hall.
I let Teagan get a few feet, and I run up behind her and lay my hand on her shoulder. Teagan stops walking and turns around. I lay my hands on her waist and kissed her. Kissing her makes her calm down.
Teagan kisses me back. "What are you doing?" Gregor flatly questions from behind us. We turn around. Gregor looks like he's been up for days. "We need to talk," Teagan states.
"I know come with me," Gregor insists. Gregor leads us down the hall that seems to never end. He leads us down a short hallway and into a small conference room. He goes inside and we follow.
"Do you know who leads the Tringers?" Teagan demanded information. "Not who, it's what leads them," Gregor replies. "What do you mean?" I question. "I figured out that their leader is a brain. It sits in a dungeon underground in the middle of Alaska. "There are Tringer generals that you'll possibly have to go through, as you get closer to Alaska you may be in more fights and danger," Gregor says bluntly.
Teagan reaches over and holds tightly to my hand. Teagan squeezes my hand. "We have to go, do something," I lie. I can tell that Teagan's nervous, I need to get her out of here. "Okay you may go," Gregor excuses us from the conversation.
Teagan and I leave the small conference room and walk back to our room. I sit down on the bed and Teagan starts to pace. "Teagan, Teagan," I try to get her attention. No response. A tear makes its way down Teagans face.
I walk over and hold Teagan in a hug. She collapses to the ground I go down with her. "It's alright Teagan," I whisper as she cries. Teagan takes my hand again and squeezes it harder than ever.
I resist the urge to scream, I actually know she broke my hand this time. Teagan lets go of my hand when she sees how red my face has gotten. "I'm so sorry," Teagan gasps. "It's okay," I confirm. I look down at my hand, it's purple. "We should have Brynn look at your hand," Teagan whispers.
"Where the hell did you get that kind of strength," I ask. "I don't know," Teagan responds. "Is it a Rec?" I question her. "No I don't think so," Teagan replies.
"I think you need to go see Brynn. Your hand's starting to swell," Teagan states. I don't need to look at my hand to know she's right. I can feel the heaviness of the swelling. "After we deal with my hand, we need to talk," I demand. "Okay" Teagan mutters.
We walk down the hall to the medical room where Brynn spends most of her time. She loves learning under Dr. Maddison. I let Brynn look at my hand. "How the hell did this happen?" She questions me. "I was in the gym," I lie. Teagan doesn't need everyone to know.
Brynn heals my hand. Teagan and I walk out and begin back to our bedroom.
