We walked around the small town for a long while, hand in hand, not saying a word. "Where are we?" Teagan laughs. "A couple blocks from the pickup," I respond. "My stub hurts," Teagan laughs.
I swoop Teagan up off the ground. Teagan wraps her leg around my waist and her arms around my neck. She takes her prosthetic off and slides it into my new maroon backpack that I had bought.
"We should get some fish chowder while we're here. There's a spot that I see right up the street that we can get it," Teagan suggests. "Sure babe," I agree. I begin the walk to the small restaurant, I'm still carrying Teagan.
Out of nowhere we here screaming. "Mamma!" Little Seamus calls from the next street over. "Put me down now, and get in my arms!" Teagan commands. I set Teagan down and jump in her arms. Teagan almost falls back off balance but catches herself with her levitation.
Teagan flies us over the buildings and sets me on the ground. "Get to Seamus," Teagan orders. Before us stand six Tringers and the dead mother to Seamus. Seamus is behind the Tringers.
I run over to Seamus as Teagan distracts the Tringers. I look around. I see a few cars parked on the side of the street. "Seamus you need to hide under one of those cars," I whisper to him. The crying boy nods as he runs over to hide under a car.
I turn my focus back to Teagan. She's still in the air and is holding two Tringers in the air with her. I run over behind a Tringer and try to attack. It spotted me before I got to it.
I feel a sensation come over me, one that I haven't felt since I gained extra strength. I go invisible, nothing can see me unless I want it to. The Tringer gains a confused look on its face.
I punch it in the face and snap its neck. Teagan has killed the Tringers she had in the air. Teagan picks up two more and I take the last one. We've killed them all.
Teagan, who's only four feet in the air, lets herself fall to the hard ground. I make myself visible once again. Seamus runs over to me and hugs me, he's sobbing. I lift him up, he lays his head on my shoulder. I sprint over to Teagan.
"Are you okay?" I worry. "Yeah I'm fine, just out of breath," Teagan assures me. "We need to get back to the base right now," Teagan orders. "I know just give me a second," I respond.
I put the crying Seamus on the ground. "Do you have anyone to go to? A dad, or grandparents maybe?" I question him. "No family," Seamus cries. "It'll be okay buddy," I pick him back up.
"Are you good to fly?" I ask Teagan. "Yes" Teagan responds. Teagan levitates into the air and we make our way back to the red pickup truck.
Once we arrive at the pickup I hand Seamus to Teagan so that I can drive. Seamus falls asleep in Teagans lap. I feel horrible for Seamus, he must be petrified by now.
"What are we going to do with him?" Teagan questions. "I don't really know," I respond. I think Teagan has an idea though, the way she's looking at the toddler, I know what's coming next.
"Maybe we could raise him, he would be safe with us," Teagan whispers. I love her, and I think we should raise Seamus. "Yeah we should, we can adopt him once this is all over," I smile.
"The only issue is I am fifteen and you're sixteen. Neither of us are of age," Teagan remarks. "Yeah but Kacey will be eighteen in a couple weeks, she could foster him and probably us until then," I remind.I already knew that Teagan and Kacey were planning something like this so that Teagan didn't have to live in her home for much longer.
"Yeah I bet that Kacey would go for that," Teagan chimes. Teagan runs her hands through Seamus's golden blond hair. He needs a haircut, it's kind of long for a boy his age.
