Finding Somewhere For The Night

KARA'S POV

NOVEMBER 5TH, 3028

10:58:07 PM

"End of the line." I heard a voice say as I woke up. I was confused. "End of the line?" I ask in confusion. "Yeah, you gonna have to leave."

"Wake up." I said as I shook the Girls a small bit. "We have to go..." I then said as they both woke up. "What's happening?" Tamara asks as Alice rubs her eyes.

"We have to leave." I responded with as I got up. I take Alice's hand, Alice takes Tamara's. We start walking off of the bus. We eventually got out into the rainy streets next to a bus stop. The doors closed after we stepped out, then the bus left. I watch the bus leave. I turn around to see that Alice and Tamara were sitting under the bus stop.

"You two gonna be okay?" I ask going up to them. "We'll find somewhere to spend the night." I reassure them. They both then get up and walk over to me. I take their hands and start walking. We cross the street to find another bus stop. Alice and Tamara sit down.

"Alice, Tamara, you're freezing cold." I said. "We're okay. We're not so cold." Alice says.

"You look lost." I heard a voice to my right say. I turn around to a WR600 android. "We have nowhere to go..."

"I know someone who can help you." He says. He hold his hand out. I grab it and we connect. Our leds flashed yellow.

"But, that's on the other side of town... We need a place for tonight!" I said before I opened my eyes to realize that he was already gone.

"Come on, Girls." I said to the Girls. They got up and each took my hand. I then notice across the street was a Convenience Store. We cross the street to where it was. "Look the store is still open. Maybe we should go inside." I said as we walked up to the front.

"At least you two will be out of the cold." I said walking in with them. I saw the cashier. I walked up to the cashier behins the counter. "What do you want?" He asks me getting up from his chair.

"I'm with two little girls and we have nowhere to go... Could you spare some money so we can get a room for tonight?" I ask. "A homeless android?" "Ah, that's the best yet..."

"Look, this is a convenience store, not the Salvation Army, okay?" He said. "You better go if you're not buying anything"

I walk away from him and start to walk around the store. I then notice the Lemon Juice stacked up on a white display. Maybe I could get one of the girla to knock it down to distract the cashier while I take some money from the register.

"Tamara, I need your help." I said turning to Tamara. "You see those cans over there?" "I want you to go over and knock them down."

"Knock them down?" Tamara asks. "Why?" Alice asks. "Please." I said.

"Girls, just trust me." With that, Tamara then went over to the Lemon Juice and knocked it over. "You all right?" The cashier asks Tamara as he went over to her.

"Are you hurt?" He asks as I suck behind the counter and opened up the register and took some money. "Well, Don't worry. It's just a few cans."

I quickily snuck away from the counter and went and took the girls hands. "Come on, let's go." I said walking out.

"We have some cash now..." I say while walking away from the store. Alice then stopped.

"You used Tamara to steal that money! How could you do that? She trusted you! I trusted you!" Alice says.

ALICE ⬇️ (NEUTRAL)

"You're right. I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry, Alice. I'll never do it again." I apologized.

ALICE ⬆️ (WARM)

I take the girl's hands and head across the street. I then noticed a laundromat. I walked up to the front door. I enter it with the girl by my side. "It's warm in here. You two will feel better in no time." I said walking in. There was no one in the place except a man sleeping in one of the chairs in the middle of the laundromat.

I walk up to one of the washers. Maybe I could steal the clothes? I was about to open the washer door when-

"What are you doing?" Alice asks me. "They're not our clothes!" Alice says. "We need them, Alice." "You and Tamara need something warm and I need to get rid of this uniform."

"But, that's stealing! We can't do that!" Alice says. "I'm sorry, Alice, but we have to do this." I said before Alice walked away and I opened the round door. I take the clothes and then close the door. I put them in the blue basket next to me.

ALICE ⬇️ (NEUTRAL)

I walk over to the sleeping man. I take the clothes that were on his lap and put them in the basket. I pick up the basket and head over to the girls. I set the basket down on a table.

After a few minutes, we got changed into the clothes I stole.

I headed for the front door. I opened the front door and left with the girls. I grab their hands and start walking over to a motel across the street that I noticed.

"A motel... Looks like we found a place to stay..." I said as we walked into a room where reception was located. "Hi." The receptionist says as we walk in.

"Hi..." I say walking up to him behind the counter. "I'd like a room..."

"That'll be $40. Upfront." He says. I take out $40 that I stole from the store earlier and hand it to him. "Just need your name and address..." He said handing me something to sign. I take the pen and sign my name.

"Can I see your... driver's license?" He asks. "I haven't got it with me." I say. "Please, the kid's are tired..."

"No worries. We can deal with it tomorrow..." He said before handing me a keycard. I take the keycard. "Have a good night." He said. "Good night." I said.

"Let's go, girls." I say before leaving with Alice and Tamara. "Do you think he believed you?" Alice asks as we head over to the stairs. "I don't know, Alice... All I know is that you and Tamara will be nice and warm tonight."

We headed up the stairs. When we got up the stairs, we went to Room 28. I walk up to the door and slide the keycard in. I take it out. I open the door to the room. I turned on the light as the girls entered. I close the door. I take out the gun and place it on the table where the tv was located.

"Here, give me your coats." I said as I went up to the girls. They took their coats off and handed it to me. I hung up their coats. I then took mine off and hung it up. I walker over to Alice and Tamara sitting on the edge of one of the beds. I kneel down.

"Why didn't he ever love us?" Alice asks. "Why was he always so upset with us?" "All I wanted was a life with Tamara like other girls." "Maybe one of us did something wrong?" Or it's both of us?" "Maybe we weren't good enough?" "That's why he was always so angry." "I just wanted us to be a family." "I just wanted him to love me and Tamara." "Why couldn't we just be happy?"

"I don't know..." I said. "You'll never leave me or Tamara, right?" Alice asks. "Promise you'll never go!"

"I promise!" I said.

ALICE ⬆️ (WARM)

TAMARA ⬆️

"Will we be together forever?" Alice asked. "Forever." I said before Alice and Tamara hugged me. After a few seconds, we stop hugging. "And Tamara?" Alice asks Tamara.

"Promise we'll be sisters forever?" Alice says holding out her pinky. "Forever." Tamara said wrapping her pinky around Alice's. I smiled.

"You two should sleep now." I said. Alice and Tamara then get under the sheet and lay down next to each other. "I'm going to turn off the light, okay?" I walk over to the light switch and turn off the lights.

"Sleep tight, girls." I said before getting into the other bed and falling alseep.
