Chapter 4

Alexa's POV

August 14th
I'm so thankful that Shawn still wants to be friends with me. I hope I can stay away from Jack.

It's the first game of the season which also means first pep rally. I can't say I'm not excited because I am! We've been practicing a routine all week. It includes a dance, a cheer, a stunt sequence and tumbling. The great part is all of our classes are shortened and we get to leave at 1:30.

The announcements came on in 7th period.

"All teachers please excuse cheerleaders, dazzlers, band members, football players and show choir members, they are to report to the gym for the pep rally. We will release all other students one grade level at a time. Go warriors!" The principal said.

I waited for Maddie to grab her stuff as Jack and his show choir friends walked out to go the gym.

"Are you ready?" Maddie asked nervously. We walked out following the other cheerleaders to the gym.

"Think so." I smiled.

"I may throw up." Maddie said clutching her stomach.

"You will be great. We've worked on this all week. Just smile and be the perfect person you are." I assured her.

"Thanks Alexa, you're going to be perfect too because you're a freaking star, literally. 1 million followers on vine?!" She said, I shrugged.

Her phone beeped and she had a new text. I was being nosey so I looked at who it was from. I snatched her phone out of her hand when I saw the name. Nash.

"Hold the fuck up Nash as in Nash Grier?!" I asked shocked. She blushed then nodded.

"I guess he saw me in one of your vines and he followed me on Twitter and started dming me, and now we text. He said I'm pretty and funny." She said.

"That's so cute aw. But I'm mad at you for not telling me." I said jokingly. "I'm so single wow." I said.

"Not uh. I think Shawn is so into you." I rolled my eyes. She continued, "But seriously what is up with Jack?" She asked.

"Bump that." I said.

"Good, he's a bad guy. I don't want you to end up with a bad guy! You and Shawn are so cute plus we could go on double dates because Shawn and Nash are friends!" Maddie said.

I smiled. "You're so cute, Maddie. But I should be looking out for you. If Nash does anything I swear I'll rip his bleeping face off."

"He has a nice face." She said.

I made a vomiting motion. "I can't even talk to you right now! Boys are Ewww." I said laughing. She laughed.

Jack's POV

I was walking to the gym with a few of the guys. I could hear Alexa and her best friend Maddie behind me.

"I'm so single wow." Alexa said.

"Not uh. I think Shawn is so into you." Maddie said. My jaw clenched? She continued, "but seriously what's up with Jack?"

"Bump that." Alexa replied. Bump that?

"Good. He's a bad guy." Maddie said.

Oh I'm a bad guy? Okokok. I stopped listening after that and turned around and smiled at Alexa. She almost started laughing. I'm glad she's not mad at me or shading me but I this is not the reaction I was looking for.

"Can I bleeping help you?" She asked trying not to laugh. Bleeping? lol I might have to take that word from her.

"Alexa can I talk to you alone for a sec? Sorry Maddie." I said. Alexa hesitated but then walked with me.
