Chapter 8

After Shawn had left, I went up to my room to go call Maddie. It rung twice before she picked up.
"Hello?" She asked.
"Hi Maddie, I have a question."
"Hi Alexa! Yes what is it?" She asked.
"Can you take me shopping?" I asked.
"Of course, I'll ask Elena to drive. Be ready in ten." She said before hanging up. {Elena is Maddie's older sister. She is a senior.}
I needed an outfit for tonight and I didn't want Sam to drive me and Maddie and I haven't talked in a while. I quickly got ready. The doorbell rang and I walked downstairs, to my surprise Sam had already answered the door.
"Hello, Elena." Sam smirked.
"Hi, asshole." Elena faked smiled. Sam laughed. She turned to me.
"You ready Alexa?" Elena asked.
"Yeah lemme just grab my wallet." I said grabbing my wallet off the counter. Sam got close to Elena.
"I know you want me." Sam whispered to her.
"In your dreams Wilkinson." She laughed.
"I'll have her back in a couple of hours." Elena and I both rolled our eyes as we walked to the car.
"Sam's so smitten by you." I laughed.

"More like Sam's so smitten by my body," we both laughed.

(At the store)

"So what are you shopping for exactly?" Maddie asked.

"An outfit for tonight." I replied.

"What's tonight?" She asked.

"I have a um date with jack." I said softly.

"With who? I couldn't hear you." Maddie said.

"Jack." I said quickly.

"What the fuck you're dating Jack." Maddie said.

"Maddie shush. Not so loud." I said.

"What the fuck you're dating Jack." She said softer.

"Who's dating Jack?" Elena asked near by.

"No one." We said at the same time.

Elena raised her eyebrow before sifting through more outfits. Once she was a little further away Maddie began to talk again.

"Alexa this is not a good idea, okay? Jack is not a good guy we discussed that. And plus he hooked up with not only my sister but a good amount of the girls at our high school." Maddie said.

"He's changed." I said nonchalantly. Jack has changed.

"He's changed in the course of three weeks? That's fast." Maddie said sarcastically.

"Maddie just trust me on this one." I snapped.

"No, Alexa I can't. I can't trust Jack, okay? Why can't you just date Shawn like you said you were at the beginning of the year." Maddie said.

"Shawn is in the picture." I said.

"Oh my god. Let me guess, you're using Shawn so you can see Jack. You're such a bitch." Maddie said.

"You know what Madison? It's life and I can do whatever the hell I want with it. I don't need you, or Sam or anyone else to tell me who I can or can't like. You're supposed to be my best friend." I yelled.

"I don't want to be friends with someone who uses Nash's best friend to go out with a complete asshole." She said.

"Wow so I guess we're done." I said.

"I guess we are." She said back. And walked away. Leaving me there with no one to take me home. I'm going to have to call Sam.

*on the phone* (S= Sam, A=Alexa)
S- Hello?
A- Can you come get me from the Omaha mall?
S-Yeah sure but I thought you were with-
A-Can you just come and get me?
S-Be there in ten
*hangs up*
I was so glad I have my journal with me. Writing always helps me.

Maybe going on a date with Jack wast such a good idea. I had lost Cameron and Madison and I could potentially lose my brother if he found out. But I like him, so shouldn't that conquer all?
