After eating I called Trece. "Wassup baby?" "Baby?"
"Lol you don't wanna be my baby?"
"Why should I be?"I ask. "You're just my type. You're short, beautiful, smart and have a heart of gold." I couldn't say no after that. We talked for a couple minutes longer before I got sleepy and said good night. To my surprise he said he loved me. I said it back because the feeling was mutual. After hanging up I heard a knock on my door and Jayce walked in. He asked how I was doing. I fold him I was fine but then I asked him how he felt about Montrece. He told me he thought he was a good guy but always have a watchful eye out. I listened to Jayce cause he was the only male figure in my life and always looked after me and Aden like we were family. The next day was my Aunts funeral. It took everything in me not to break down but I knew I had to be strong for Aden. After the funeral Montrece called to see if I wanted to go to the mall to get my mind off of what had been going on. I said yes and told him I would be ready in a few minutes. He pulled up ten minutes later in a maroon Mercedes Benz. Before leaving I asked if Jayce wanted to go he declined. So I got Aden and headed out. I buckled Aden then got in and buckled myself and we were on our way to the Galleria mall. The whole ride Aden and Montrece talked about cartoons and candy. They even came up with nick names for each other. Tee and A-day.
We walked around until Aden saw the ice skating rink and wanted to try it. I was reluctant then gave into his sad eyes. He looked just like me. He had long curly dark brown hair that grew down to his back.
He had big brown eyes that I couldn't say no to. We ice skated for a long time until Aden got hungry. We headed to the food court and ate panda express. After eating we decided to leave. Aden fell asleep as soon as we got into the car. I took that opportunity to finally ask Montrece the dreaded question. "Can I ask you something Trece?" I said
"Sure wassup?"
"Where did you get the money that you gave me, and why did you give it to me?"
Earlier Jayce told me there were rumors of Montrece selling drugs and hanging with drug dealers but I wanted to ask him for myself before I go by what I heard.
"My dad owns an oil rig up north and sends me money every few weeks. When you told me you and Aden were living with Jayce I wanted to help you out. I don't want you to have to live with somebody so I dropped some change in your pocket."
All I could do was smile. I knew he wasn't a drug dealer but I would still watch out. Once we pulled up to the house I kissed Trece and got Aden out of the back seat. Montrece walked us to the door and gave me some more money I declined but he insisted so I took it. He leaned over and gave me one last kiss before leaving. Once I got inside I put Aden in his bed and went to my room. I turned on my t.v. while changing clothes. I heard Jayce ask if he could come in and talk I opened the door and let him in. "How was the mall?"
"It was fun it got my mind off things."
"That's good so wassup with you and Trece?"
"We love each other. He seems different from other guys."
"That's good I'm happy for you. You deserve a good man." He said.
He inched closer to me and hugged me. I loved Jayce he was the best friend I ever had. He was more than a friend he was my brother.
