"Where do you want this dresser?" Montrece asked. Today was the day I moved into my own place. Montrece helped me get enough money from his dad after our little incident two months ago. We both wanted to make sure we didn't put ourselves in that situation again. I had a nice little two bedroom apartment pretty close to the school. It had a playground and pool for Aden and the bus would come when pick him up for school. Things seemed to be going pretty good for me. We moved the rest of the stuff into the apartment and decided to celebrate afterwards. I called Lyrique to come and join us.
We waited fifteen minutes and Lyrique pulled up. We got out and went into Tgi Fridays. We got a table for four and sat down we talked about everything. Once the waiter came we all ordered and began talking again. The drinks came first. I must've been thirsty because I drunk four drinks before our food had come. After our food came I could barely eat because I drunk too many strawberry lemonades.
After dinner I went to my apartment and got Aden and I ready for bed. Before going to sleep I text montrece.
Me: Hey trecey pooh thanks for helping me move today and for everything.
Trece: Anything for my Laybug and Aday y'all mean the world to me. I love u :-*
Me: I love you too :-*
After texting him I fell asleep.
It had been a month since I had been on my own and graduation was just two weeks away. I couldn't wait for school to be over. No more boring classes. No more stupid teachers . No more school, at least for a little while. I had decided I was going to go to TWU in the fall. They had a daycare program so I could still take care of Aden and get mg education. Montrece was going to go Prairie View A&M. We wouldn't see each other much during the school year besides weekends but at least we had the whole summer to spend together.
The next two weeks went by extremely fast. Today was the big day. It was my 18th birthday and the day I graduate from high school and enter adulthood. I woke up to banging on my front door. It was 7:30 in the morning and I had no clue who would be banging on my door. I got up went to the door and looked through the peep hole. I couldn't see anybody. I heard a voice from the other side. It sounded like an old lady. I opened the door. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!" It was Montrece. He had balloons flowers and a teddy bear. I let him in and gave him a big hug and kiss. He handed me a card that read: Happy birthday baby. Today is one of the biggest and best days of your life. You're finally 18 and you're graduating. I'm so proud of you. Out of all of the things you've been through this year you haven't lost faith. You mean the world to me. You brighten up my day when I see you smile. I'm lucky to have a woman like you by my side. I hope that today is the best day of your life and that you enjoy every minute of it. I love you Laybug. -Trecey Pooh
After reading his card I felt so special. I had the best boyfriend on the world. After admiring my gifts I got dressed while Montrece walked Aden to the bus stop.
Once Montrece got back we headed to graduation rehearsal. Rehearsal was from 8:30-12:00. After rehearsal I went to Lyrique's house to get my hair done and then we went to get our nails done. The day was going by fast. It was now 5:30 , 2 1/2 hours until graduation starts. I went home brushed my teeth, put on make up, put my black dress on and my black keeks on. I put my gown on and grabbed my cap. I got Aden in the car and dropped him off at Pastor Johnsons house. He had taken the place of my father the past few months. After dropping off Aden I headed to the school. Once I got to school I went to the Gym where all the other seniors were. I saw Montrece and did he look fine. He had his hair cut different than the way he usually does. He had a taper fade with a swirly part on the side. While talking to Montrece Jayce walked up and asked if he could speak with me. "I just want to apologize for all the things I've done to you. From kissing you to putting my hands on you. I was a jerk and I'm truly sorry. Time away from you shows me how much I need you. I just wanna be friends again." I accepted his apology and agreed we could start over.
It was time! We walked on the field and everyone was cheering. There were so many people. We all took our seats on the field. The valedictorian gave her speech and it was time to receive our diplomas. Before I knew it I was in line to get my diploma. Each step forward my heart was pounding. I gave the announcer my name and stepped up the stairs. I walked across the stage with my head held high. I could hear cheering. I looked into the sea of classmates and saw Montrece, Jayce, and Lyrique rooting for me. I grabbed my diploma feeling lime I had mad the biggest accomplishment of my life. I took my seat and waited for the other names to be called. Montrece was the last person to be called. I got up and screamed for him. Montrece Zander was my baby. I was so proud of him.
After everyone had gotten their diplomas we moved our tassels to the other side. "Introducing the class of 2014. We there our caps and caught them. Tears of joy filled my eyes. After all I had been through I made it.
I caught up with Montrece Jayce and Lyrique. We took pictures and decided to meet at a local club at 10:00 that night. Montrece said his dad had came from Utah to see him walk and wanted us to meet. We walked to the parking lot and met up with my pastor and Montrece's dad. Montrece was the spitting image of his father. From his tall frame to the pretty Grey eyes. They had the same smile and everything. "This is my dad Montrell"
"Dad this is Alaya my girlfriend and her brother Aden." We shook hands and talked for a few minutes until he had to leave for his flight back to Utah. My pastor agreed to watch Aden for the night so we could have a good time.
I drove home to change while Montrece waited for me. I had on a cute dress that I had gotten a couple months ago. It was red and black. I touched up my make up and put on red lipstick. Montrece had on all black with a red and black Miami snapback and red and black Jordan's with gold accessories.
We got into the car and headed to Zouk.
