Orsis led Filak back in the base and downstairs, a huge spacious room with tables and a few metal bins, there was also a reinforced window in the wall, through which was a man sitting on a chair, reading a book, he was wearing glasses and had light hair.
Filak looked around and quickly asked, seeing the little stands and divisions and targets.
"Is this the shooting range?"
Orsis smiled, looking around and standing in the center.
"Ain't it cool? That's the thing I wanted to show you."
Burgundy looked around a bit...
"Only if you got an extensive arsenal."
Orsis slowly began leading him to the window.
"Oh trust me, we got anything you could think off! Russie weapons? Got em! Czech Skorpion or CZ? Got that too!"
"Seriously?? You got Skorpions?!"
Burgundy was really shocked by the immense arsenal of this very base. The man in glasses and with white hair said.
"If you wanna take weapons outta here freely to shoot, you gotta have your special license, new guy."
Orsis tapped Filak's shoulder.
"I'll give you the right to own a firing range license if you show me how you got your latest 80-meter headshot."
They approached the firing range, and set up the range view so that its 80 from the stand, and 8 meters lower, as if shooting from the second floor.
"So this is a super modernized firing range...? You can set up the height and specific distances instead of like 1, 5, 25, 50?"
"Mhm! Almost all main bases have this built up. Pretty amazing, right?"
Filak pulled the slide, disabling safety on his Tokarev after pulling it out, and caught the bullet in the chamber.
"This sounds ironic, but I'm happy I assigned to the army."
"Anyway, Filak, show me watcha got!"
The man in glasses and with white hair went out of his room, and he was followed by a shorter guy, darker hair, and also had glasses, they stopped behind Filak and watched him. Filak aimed in at the head, raised his aim by 20 degrees and shot, all these actions took place in less than a second, and then Orsis pressed the "return" button as Filak pulled the mag out, pulled the slide, and put the 2 bullets in the mag, 6 bullets. Orsis looked amazed with wide open eyes as they looked at the bullet hole which was in the head of the target. The man behind him suddenly spoke.
"So the rumors are true! You did hit a head from 80 meters!"
Filak holstered his Tokarev and turned to him.
"Of course, I never lie, unless it's about telling fake info to the enemy..."
Orsis turned to the 2 guys and said to Filak.
"Filak Burgundy, these are the two armory brothers. They "work" here and are demolition experts. Heckler and Koch. The older one is Heckler, and the shorter, younger one is Koch."
"Nice to meet you, Burgundy."
Koch replied, these were the first words he said in a while. Heckler added to it, putting his hands in his pockets: "Follow me, I'll make you your firing range license, and give you a little something in exchange for that supressed TT you got there."
Heckler and Koch led Filak in the storage room, and to a small space with a computer, and a special printer. Heckler sat down, opening a card making program, as Koch went back to his little space with a beanbag and a relatively normal TV, playing games.
"Listen Filak, if you really wanna survive around here, that Tokarev won't cut it. That's why we have a concealed-trade system with agents and soldiers like you, Saiga, Gyurza, Orsis, and anyone who is like you or the people you saw earlier in the cafe. For example, before becoming a personal assistant of miss Helian, Callhoun collected loads of pistols, knives, and rifles, which is why he now carries around an MP7A1. Sure, the ammo for it is scarce, but he turned in loads of weapons. These weapons are usually sold on the market and then we buy munitions and weapons for it. But don't worry, we usually get funds and weaponry from the government too. So I'll cut you a deal right now -- turn me in that supressed Tokarev I'll give you a Krainy Fort-17 as your first rank up, what do you think? 13 bullet capacity, 9mm, no stupid AKBS TT rounds."
Filak thought for a bit...
"Filak, you should take it! You can exchange it later by adding up something else with your Fort-17, like an AK-74 to get a Glock or maybe an MP5K with 20 round mags." Orsis added.
"Fine, I'll take it."
"Koch! New Tokarev, exchange Fort-17 standard, 1 extra mag."
Koch paused his game, got up took the Tokarev, taking the suppressor off, pulling out the mag and emptying bullets, he went to storage, put the suppressor to a box called "pistol suppressors", and then put the tokarev in a pistol case with other tokarevs, and dropping 6 bullets in the TT type bullet box, and getting 26 9mm Makarov rounds, a Fort-17 pistol and an extra Fort-17 magazine, coming back, giving it to Heckler, and then going back to his space.
"Here you go, you can load your mags while I make your license and print it, I'm also giving you this red marked mag to test fire your new pistol."
"I'll be waiting for you at your shooting stand, Filak!"
Orsis added while leaving the storage room and closing the door.
...
"Say, Heckler, does Helian have a license?" Filak was already filling his mags while talking. Heckler was assembling his tier 1 license in a special program.
"Yes, she has a "Commander License"."
Filak was kinda surprised, he thought she doesn't like shooting.
"So she has access to anything around? What does she conceal carry around here?"
"She has a Serbu Super Shorty with an EOTech XPS3, and flechette shells."
Burgundy never had thought a classy woman like her would use a shotgun!
"A shotgun you say..."
Heckler nodded, pressing print, as the laser printer went to work.
"That's kinda surprising for me, honestly. I thought she'd use a revolver or a 22 long rifle pistol."
Heckler turned his chair to Filak.
"Yeah, she used to have one, she usually changes her concealed loadout once every 2 weeks."
"Wow."
After a bit, the license card was finished, and Heckler grabbed it, blowing on it a bit to remove unnecessary dust or dirt, and gave it to Filak.
"Your tier 1 license, congrats!"
"Thanks a lot, Heckler. I'll return the red mag empty in a bit."
Filak got up, shaked Heckler's hand, grabbing the red mag, and going out.
"So, tier 1 license? With that you can rent to shoot light pistols and 9mm or 22lr PDWs."
Burgundy approached Orsis, as she finished her sentence.
"I got a red mag, I think it's for test firing your weapon, right?"
Orsis nodded, moving Filak's target to 15 metres, up to head level.
"Let's see if your hand gets fit for that new pistol of yours."
Filak aims in, and shoots a few times, just randomly aiming at the middle of the target. Then he shoots rapid fire the last 8 bullets.
"Well?"
Filak put it on safety, and side swinged the gun to get the mag out, and catches the red marked magazine, looking and inspecting the pistol.
"..."
Orsis got a bit nervous. "W-Well?"
And then Burgundy turned, smiling.
"I could get along with it. I love something new from the russie pistols."
Orsis did a relieving sigh, thinking that he was mad, even as a psychologist she can't read his mind!
Orsis thought to herself: "You're one interesting guy, Filak..."
"I'll go give Heckler the training mag back. You can go if you wanna, unless you got anything else to show me."
"Oh no no, I got nothing else! Well maybe Helian will call you after what happened, so brace yourself."
"Alright, thanks a lot!"
"See ya 'round, Burgundy!"
Orsis went upstairs, Filak went to the small window to Heckler.
"Well, Filak? How is the pistol?"
Filak slid the red marked mag in the opening, as Heckler took it, and Koch got up to take it and put it with the other pistol training mags.
"It's decent. Something better and new than the usual Tokarevs and PMMs I used in the enemy base."
"See ya, don't cause trouble, and remember that scavenging on missions levels your license up -- like in a game."
"Gotcha, see ya round."
Filak also went back to lobby.
"Wait!"
Filak stopped and turned his head, Heckler was leaning out of the small opening in the window.
"Tonight's going to be a small party in the hall of the base! Ask Orsis or Helian for directions, and I'm sure everyone would be happy to see you there!"
"Ah, Ok! Good day!"
Heckler nodded, getting back in his seat, as Filak got out and went to lobby to just hang around and read some magazines about weapons.
