Wesson and Smith were working at the radio, checking for things.
"Smith, I spot a huge army of russie soldiers heading our way."
Smith gets shocked and turns his head to her, shouting out in a panicked way.
"How can you stay calm while saying that?! TRIGGER THE ALARM!"
Wesson quickly opened the protective box and smashed the "EMERGENCY" button. All sirens went off and then Wesson went to announce on the radio.
"Army of 50 going our way from the russie front -- emergency preparations are advised."
Filak quickly got up and ran, Damler took his shoulder.
"Oi, you stay here, we will deal with them ourselves."
Gyurza, Damler, Saiga, Walther, Heckler, and Smith got ready to go.
"I'll go too!" Filak exclaimed, watching everyone leave.
"Don't be reckless, Filak!" Wesson grabbed Filak by his shoulder.
"The adults can deal with it... They're more experienced than us." Koch came up to them, saying that.
"O-Okay, I guess you're right..."
"They're experienced, there's no way they can lose."
They all sat down, comforting Filak, as Filak watched them all board helicopters with some of our soldiers and leave.
...
Helian was feeling better, MUCH better since the morning, it was now 4 hours since our group left the base. Helian commanded the group with Wesson, Koch decided to let Filak shoot some weapons to help him calm down. Filak was shooting a Nagant M1895 revolver...
"Say, where did you get this...?"
"Oh we found it off of some scav."
Filak was still nervous, but kept shooting.
Koch got a call and picked up."Orsis? Ah, Filak is with me... You want him to come to you? Ok. He's coming already."
Koch hanged up.
"What did Orsis want?"
"She wants you to come to her."
...
"Hey Orsis. What's up?"
"Sorry for calling you up here... I wanted to ask you one thing."
Filak was interested, so he sat down near her hospital bed.
Orsis turned her head to him. "I heard everything from Wesson. You were being reckless."
Filak looked down a bit.
"I was ordered to take care of you as an experienced person with a newbie. If they tell you to stay put then do so. We are going to go and check on them if they're not going to come back the next morning. I have high hopes for you... please... please don't be such a rebel..."
Orsis could be seen barely holding tears back. She really cares for Filak, and he understood that.
"I'm.. I'm sorry for making you that worried, Orsis... I didn't think you cared about me that much..."
"Just... just don't be reckless... take that as an order... ok?"
Filak slowly nodded, and Orsis pat him once on his head.
"You're... you're dismissed..."
Orsis turned back round to the window.
...
Next morning... noone came back yet, so Filak, Wesson and Koch were ready to go with some other scouts and medics. Helian was really getting used to Filak slowly.
"U-Uhm, your task is to scout and see what happened to our yesterday's platoon! F-Filak will be leader! Good luck!"
Helian quickly ran, her face was less red than last time, while Callhoun and Orsis came up to the 3 leaders, and wished them luck.
"Filak, don't die out there, 'kay?"
Filak nodded to Orsis words.
"We're counting on your orders, Burgundy." Koch added, and Filak gained a light smile.
"Alright, we have 20 men, including me and Koch with Wesson. 5 men on each armored jeep! Incase of encounter, get a gunner on the miniguns and begin firing back!"
"SIR YES SIR!"
It was a blood bath. A mass grave. Noone was left alive. Explosion marks, dusted bodies, some are still bleeding.
"QUICKLY GO AND TREAT ANY PERSON YOU SEE THAT IS STILL BLEEDING! THEY MIGHT BE ALIVE!"
Wesson came out of the first humvee, and came to Filak, looking around in horror...
"J-Jesus Christ... G-Good thing we brought blood bags...?"
Koch followed Wesson.
"We should get to looking for people's bodies. To see who's KIA and who isn't."
Filak nodded and every soldier began looking -- some stayed on Guard in jeeps in case someone tries to assault them. People began getting pulled out of these pits, some unconscious, some wide awake not feeling their body. 11 people were saved. Wesson suddenly yelped out. Koch and Filak, hearing, ran up to her.
"What's wrong?!"
Koch and Filak were really shocked at the sight. Pirieu Gyurza, Simon Damler - KIA. Pirieu was beyond saving, he got shot in the head and in the chest 3 times, and Damler's armor and helmet seem beat up.
"Hey wait, we can't jump to conclusions yet, check the pulse."
After checking, Gyurza was confirmed KIA, but Damler was still beating on! Wesson quickly exclaimed.
"MEDIC! DAMLER IS STILL ALIVE!"
Damler was still breathing, his armor saved him. Seems like he got knocked unconscious due to the constant shots to the head.
"It's very possible to get shot on the head and get hit so hard you get knocked. Him getting knocked out possibly saved his life."
Filak nodded to Koch's claim, but Wesson, wasn't feeling well after seeing this.
"Wesson, I think you would be better staying in the humvee..."
"N-No I'm staying, stop ruling me around, Koch!!"
Wesson held onto Koch's arm to not fall, he was the closest, while Filak was helping the medics get Damler. Filak had something shining in his eye, but couldn't really see what it was, no one near him had anything reflective.
...
Wesson suddenly got pushed down by Filak who ran up to her.
"OW WHY DID YOU-!"
Suddenly, a mere milisecond later, Koch, Filak, and Wesson hear a loud SNAP, which was followed by a ka-ching, there was a bullet and it hit the humvee.
"SNIPERS! HUMVEE 3, OPEN FIRE IN THAT DIRECTION!"
The turret quickly turned and began shooting, a yell could be heard, an accidental shot again, that was aimed in the sky, and then they could see a sniper fall off the tree.
"W-Woah, y-you saved me! How did you notice he was there..?!"
Filak helped Wesson up. "I couldn't figure out why there was a bit of sunlight reflecting in my eye... and then I noticed it coming from his scope, I acted ASAP."
Wesson was really amazed.
"Y-You sure know lots about weapon attachments and stuff...!"
"Don't thank, it's just our jobs as teammates and comrades in this war against Russie."
A soldier ran up to Filak.
"Sir! We have finished body count!"
Filak turned around to him. "Really? Go ahead."
"56 KIA Russies, counting the dead sniper, and 44 dead Feds..."
"Have you found the bodies of Walther, Saiga, Heckler and Smith?"
The soldier looked down a bit... "N-Negative... We're sorry, we haven't found them."
"What?! What do you mean?!" Wesson also was pretty shocked with Koch, while Filak was thinking.
"T-That's impossible for them to just disappear without a trace!"
"Wesson is right, it's impossible."
"Wait a sec, maybe they retreated to somewhere near. Their equipment must be dead so they were stuck, and decided to look for a safe spot to camp in."
Wesson remembered.
"B-Burgundy is right! Our loadouts usually come with special rations and emergency tent set ups!"
An another soldier exclaimed something again.
"CAPTAIN! WE FOUND SOMETHING YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN!"
Filak signaled Wesson and Koch to come, he pulled his pistol out and pulled the slide. Koch pulled out his M1A and pulled the charging handle. And Wesson pulled out a KEDR-B, unfolding the stock, getting a mag out of her vest and pushing it in, pulling the charging handle.
"Let's go."
What the soldier found was a trail of blood rubbed against the grass, signifying that a bleeding body was being pulled on this grass, that trail also led on the road behind 3 meters of foliage.
Wesson got a good idea! "What if someone's body was being pulled across the road and back in the foliage?? I see a bit rising in the tree, so I think there's a hilltop."
Filak snapped his fingers. "Correct! They're probably up there. Let's go. Oh and, you 4 are following us."
Filak pointed at 2 medics and 2 light scouts. They nod, and begin following the trio, which were going across the road and up the hill. When they reach some light source, suddenly Walther yelled out: "DO NOT SHOOT US, PLEASE! WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING!" They ran out of the foliage, holstering their weapons.
"AH! Oh, it's you! I thought we'd never meet again!" Walther laughed it out, there are a few tents. Walther was sitting in front of a campfire. Wesson was relieved to see him.
"Doctor, where are others?! Saiga, Smith, and my brother!"
"Saiga... Is asleep, I think."
Saiga suddenly comes out, laughing, covered in bandages.
"HAHA! I LIVE AGAIN! FIRST A GRENADE NOW 10 SHOTS TO THE BODY!"
"Be quiet, Saiga! Smith and Heckler are recovering!"
Wesson and Koch both made relieving sighs.
"B-But... Heckler got in a coma... Unfortunately.. He got hit so hard on his helmet, and then nearly died to an explosion..."
Koch got worried fast. "But he's alive right?! H-He couldn't just die like that, RIGHT?!"
Walther got up, and pat Koch on his shoulder. "He's ok, he just needs some time to wake up... He'll be ok."
"A-And Smith?!"
Wesson also wanted to know if he's ok.
"Got caught up in an explosion... But he's recovering from some burns... He'll be fine too."
"Can we see them...?"
"Sorry, but at the base, ok?"
Wesson teared up, she got through so many emotions she thought she'd lose her brother. She just let it all out... crying out of happiness, and hugged Koch, for some reason. Koch, being the sensible person, hugged back and pat her head to make her feel better.
"If Wesson ain't saying it, I'll say it myself."
Filak said it: "Mission Success, let's pack up and help the people that survived here and do an RTB."
