Confessions

Jonas and I walk into the room where Suyin has set up a table with apples and pictures for her father. She looks tearfully at the small shrine. "I'm so sorry, Suyin." I say in a comforting tone. She looks at me. "I'm sorry we couldn't save him." I say. "It's not just about the people we lose, it's also about the people we save." She says determinedly. I nod, but pull her into a hug nonetheless. "How's Meiying?" Jonas asks when I pull away. "She's sad. And confused. But she's strong." Suyin replies. I rub her shoulder. "We're going to give you some time." I say before leading Jonas out. This ordeal reminds me that I need to tell Jonas how I feel. What I want him to know. But I'm still scared of his reaction. "I'm going to check up on Lori, okay?" He tells me, bringing me back into the present. I nod. "Okay, come find me after?" He nods, and walks towards the elevator to go to the medical bay. I'm going to tell him.

Jonas P.O.V.

I think of Suyin and her father. It reminds me that I'll regret it if something happens to (Y/N), and I never tell her the truth. Not that I'm all touchy feely. I walk into the medical bay to see Lori and Meiying playin a card game. I come over, and Meiying shows me her cards. I hum, as if deciding if they're good cards. She has three kings. "Whatcha got over there?" Lori asks. Meiying sets her cards down. "Three Kings!" She replies excitedly. "What! You owe me a soda for that one." "Fine." The girl stands up. "We'll square up when you get back." "Fine. Fine, Fine, Fine." She stomps away. I chuckle before looking at Lori. "How are you feeling?" "Like I got off easy compared to the rest of you. I've been trying to take her mind off things. I'm sorry for not believing you." Lori replies, referring to Meiying. "You didn't call me crazy." I shrug. "But I didn't call you sane." "Sane wasn't a word I heard often." "Mac told me about you and (Y/N)." She presses. "There's nothing to tell." I reply gruffly.

"But there could be. Plus that's a total lie. Even when we were married, there was something there." Before I can reply, Meiying walks back in with two bottle of soda and a juice box. "Jonas." She whispers, motioning me to her as if to tell a secret. "(Y/N) likes you too." Lori laughs as Meiying make a suggestive motion with her eyebrows. "This is probably the worst moment of my life." I decide. "But I do need to tell her. She wanted to meet after I checked up on you." "Then go tell her now." Lori suggests. I chuckle at her excitement. "No guarantees." I tell her before leaving, hearing the two girls giggle as I walk away.

(Y/N) P.O.V.

I lay on my bed, waiting for Jonas. He knows how much I love just laying on a comfortable bed, so I figure he'll show up at some point. As thought, a knock sounds at the door. Speak of the devil. I slowly stand up, not wanting to leave the warm bed, and open the door. He walks in. "How's Lori?" I ask. "Fine." He replies far away like. My nerves hit me as I start to speak again. "I want to tell you something, Jonas. What I really wanted to tell you on that boat after you saved me." I take a breath. "I really like you Jonas. Even when you were married, I wished it was me you were with. Then everything happened, we live halfway across the world from each other. But I need to tell you how important to me you are. It fine if you don't feel the same." I reply, my confidence spiraling down after each word. What if he doesn't feel the same? What if he can't talk to me after this? He stays silent, just staring at me. "Jonas?" Suddenly his lips crash into mine. I quickly get over the shock, kissing him back. It feels so amazing, so perfect.

He pulls away, which makes me mentally whine. "I've liked you too, for a really long time." He replaces his lips on mine, pushing me to a wall. I kiss him back with ferocity. It makes me feel high in the clouds, kissing the man I've fallen in love with. Things quickly become heated, his hands slip up my shirt, my own feeling his muscled abdomen. A knock at the door interrupts anything that was going to happen. I grumble whilst walking to the door. When I open it, it take Mac 2 seconds to realize what he stumbled upon between my frazzled and annoyed state, and Jonas still in the room, dazed. He laughs. "Thought so. Anyways I came to tell you that Morris was calling everyone to the control room. Should I tell him you two are busy doing something." He asks suggestively. Part of me wants to go with it, but I can't give him that satisfaction.

"We'll be there in a moment." I all be shout, slamming the door. I look at Jonas's smirk. "Cmon," I kiss his lips once more. "Can't be late." I head for the door, and he follows suit. When we get to the control room, Morris takes the spotlight. "I have contacted the government of China, India, Japan, and Australia." I'm confused. How? Doesn't a giant shark sound like a prank? "This is now, thankfully, out of our hands. A rescue boat will be here in the morning. I'm closing Mana One, until the meg is gone. I came to celebrate with and now, I'm mourning with you." Morris concludes. It still seems fishy to me.

"Thanks for saving our asses!" Morris shouts, leaving on his helicopter. Once it's out of view I turn to Jonas. "Isn't a little strange that he was able to convince the governments of the meg? I mean doesn't that sound like a prank?" Jonas shrugs, but looks slightly angry. "Probably. But will see in the morning." I look out to the sea. "Hey, it'll all be okay?" He says, cupping my face. I kiss him. "I think we have unfinished business." I say smiling. I run off in the direction of my room, Jonas following. We get to my room quickly. Jonas wraps his arm around me from behind, kissing my neck. I giggle while locking the door. We continue to make out by the door before moving to the bed. I love every moment with him, and I feel so much safer then I have in a long time while I sleep wrapped in his arms.
