Eleven o'clock morphs into twelve and then one. Long minutes turns into even longer hours. Gwyneth's mind is blank; where there should be dreams is a heavy blackness. A faint squeak could be heard as the door opened and a hooded character entered the room. As the hood fell down she only needed a second to realise who it was.

"Cornelius?"

"You must leave, my princess"

Gwyneth rose her eyebrows in confusion but slowly brought the blankets aside so her bare feet could drop to the floor.

"Your aunt Prunaprismia gave birth to a son tonight,"

She looked up in fear as she muttered the name of her brother. "Caspian.."

The old man nodded slowly, "I was just about to go and get him, make sure that his horse is ready in 3 minutes," Gwyneth gave a quick nod before rushing to her wardrobe, grabbing her mahogany coloured cloak and a pair of tight-laced boots before she rapidly started her descent towards the stables underneath the castle.

All her strength was needed to have the horse move one step forward. Caspian's horse certainly matched his own personality. Both of them are extremely stubborn.

The corridor behind her wasn't quiet anymore, as she heard two familiar sets of footsteps approaching.

She turned around to see the two men she was waiting for. "Here," Caspian said as he gave her a small red-handled dagger. "Thanks.." She muttered quietly before mounting her own horse.

"Aim for the woods booth of you, they won't follow you there,"

Cornelius looked up at Caspian and passed him a white horn. "Don't ever use it, except in your greatest need,"

Gwyneth smiled down at the old man before speaking up. "Will we ever see you again?"

"I hope so, my princess. There is so much more I have left to tell you both, everything you know is about to change.. Now go!" Caspian went ahead and Gwyneth was not far behind. They came to a stop at the bridge gate as multiple fireworks lightened up the sky.

"I have a hard time deciphering what they are celebrating, Miraz's son or our departure," Gwyneth scoffed with a laugh as Caspian rolled his eyes before they continued through the town, over the thin grass of the plains and over a river. The guards were not far behind but luckily for the young Telmarines, they came to a short halt at the edge of the forest.

"Caspian, look out!!" Gwyneth screamed right before Caspian crashed into a branch and was pushed off his horse. His ankle was still attached to the stirrup and he was dragged along the ground behind the horse.

"Cas.." She reached for her brother's hand but was pulled off her horse in the process.

Her head throbbed violently as black spots started to appear in her sight. The last thing she heard before passing out was the blowing of a horn.
