"Kill them!"
"Liars!"
"Murderers!"
"Telmarines!"
When Gwyneth and Caspian had thought of the Narnians, they definitely didn't think of the situation that they were in. The centaurs lead them to where all of the remaining Narnians had assembled. When they had arrived, it was incredibly dark and chilly. Caspian and Gwyneth stood in the middle of tons of Narnians that had crowded around them, yelling and calling them names that Gwyneth would even think to say out loud.
Gwyneth searched through the crowd with her gaze. She could see Nikabrik's grumpy face right before he threw yet another accusation against them.
"This horn proves that they have stolen yet another thing from us!" He said as he pointed a finger towards the two youngsters.
"We didn't steal anything," Caspian said.
"Didn't steal anything?" A minotaur shouted, clearly frustrated with the response. "Shall we list the things the Telmarines have taken from us?"
"Our homes!"
"Our land!"
"Our freedom!"
"Our lives!"
Gwyneth felt like crying. The Narnians were accusing them of things that their ancestors did.
"You want to hold us accountable for all of the crimes of our people?" Gwyneth shrieked at all of them, finally finding her voice. Some of the Narnians closed their mouths but Gwyneth could still feel their judging glares.
"Accountable.. and punishable," said Nikabrik.
"Hah! That's rich coming from you dwarf. Or have you forgotten it was your people who fought alongside the White Witch?" Reepicheep pulled out his thin sword and waved it around elegantly as he spoke.
Nikabrik pushed the mouse away. "And I would gladly do it again if it would get rid of these barbarians."
"Then we are in luck that you don't have the power to bring her back," Trufflehunter spoke up. "Or are you suggesting that we ask these children to turn against Aslan now?"
Those words caused an outbreak in the circle of Narnians. The young girl gave a small nod to the badger in appreciation. He was defending them.
Trufflehunter continued, "Some of you may have forgotten but we badgers remember well, that Narnia was never right except for when a son of Adam was king."
"The boy is a Telmarine! Why would we ever want him as our king?"
"Because I can help you," Caspian responded. A response that was followed with a short moment of silence.
"It's a trick!" A minotaur spoke up.
"Oh, just hear him out!" Gwyneth yelled at the Narnians around them. A few seconds later Caspian put his hand on her shoulder.
"Beyond these woods, I'm a prince. The Telmarine throne is rightfully mine! Help me claim it, and I can bring peace between us."
"It is true," A centaur nodded slowly, "The time is ripe. I watch the skies, for it is mine to watch as it is yours to remember, badger. Tarva, the lord of victory, and Alambil, the lady of peace, have come together in the high heavens. And now here, a son of Adam has come forth to offer us back our freedom."
"Is this possible? Do you really think that there could be peace? Do you? I mean, really?" A clearly excited squirrel asked from one of the nearby trees.
"It's a big possibility," Said Gwyneth softly.
"Two days ago, I didn't believe in the existence of talking animals... or dwarves... or centaurs. They were just stories. Yet here you are, in strength and numbers that we Telmarines never could have imagined. Whether this horn is magic or not, it brought us together. And together, we have a chance to take back what is ours!" Caspian gripped the bone-white horn tightly, holding it up above his head.
"If you will lead us, then my sons and I offer our swords," All of the centaurs pulled the swords out of their scabbards and raised them in the air. All of the other Narnians followed, raising their own weapons in the air.
"And we offer you our lives, unreservedly."
"If we are to be ready for them, we need to hurry to find soldiers and weapons." Caspian took a few steps towards the top of the small hill in front of him. He looked over his shoulder to see Gwyneth standing there, in deep thought. "Gwyn, you coming?"
