Lucy's toes were already bathing in the warm summer sand as they walked along the beach below Cair Paravel. She took one last glance over her shoulder as the castle ruin disappeared behind the hill. As she turned back around she was blinded by the suns reflection, a hand was quickly brought up to shield her eyes. But as she narrowed her eyes she could see what was the reason for the reflection.

"Look!" Lucy yelled as she pointed towards a small boat, not far from shore. "What's that?"

The Telmarine soldiers in the boat looked at each other and then one of them looked down at what they previously had thought had just been a fairytale, a story. The dwarf was brought up between them. His face was badly beaten up, a large cut along his jaw along with a swollen cheek.

"Let's just get this over with.."

"Drop him!" Someone yelled. Both of the soldiers turned around to look at the girl on the beach with a shocked look present on both of their faces. Before they dropped the creature in the water.

Peter and Edmund rushed into the water, Peter went to save the dwarf and Edmund went to get the boat. Susan shot her first arrow towards one of the soldiers that later fell backwards over the side of the boat into the water. The other soldier dived into the water without further questioning.

As the brothers came back to the shore Lucy rushed over to the dwarf to cut open the ropes that bound his arms together. He was placed on the beach and was just sitting there for a few seconds before the coughing started before he turned his head to look up at the four children, extremely unimpressed.

"Drop him?!" He exclaimed, "That's the best you could come up with?" He glared at Susan as the boys turned to look at each other.

Susan wasn't buying any of it. "A simple thank you would suffice,"

"They were doing fine drowning me without your help," The angry dwarf pointed towards the water.

"Maybe we should've let them," Peter said calmly.

"Why were they trying to kill you anyway?" Lucy asked as her expression showed pure confusion.

"They are Telmarines, that's what they do.." He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Telmarines? In Narnia?" Edmund questioned as he turned to look at Peter.

"Where have you been for the last few hundred years?" The dwarf asked as he coughed up some more water.

Lucy giggled slightly before looking over at the others, waiting for one of them to explain what their situation looked like. "It's a bit of a long story," Susan gave Peter his sword back and that motion caught the dwarf's eye.

"Oh, you've got to be kiddin' me.." The dwarf grunted in awe." "You're it? You're the kings and queens of old?"

Peter stepped forward ready to shake his hand. "High King Peter, the Magnificent," The dwarf just stared at his hand.

"You probably could've left out the last bit," Susan said while smiling to her brother. The dwarf chuckled slightly. "Probably," He looked back at Peter.

"You might be surprised," Peter said, sheathing his sword again.

"You don't want to do that, boy," The dwarf said while side glancing him.

"Not me, him," Peter said as he handed his sword to Edmund who was thought to be the best swordsman in Narnia before their disappearance one year ago. The dwarf grabbed a sword as the two got ready for the duel.

The dwarf showed that he was quite an actor as he tried to trick the young king, but Edmund was clearly the better swordsman as he unarmed the shorter opponent in bare seconds. As the dwarf fell backwards in the sand he muttered a few words. "Beards and bedstands.. Maybe that horn worked after all.."

Susan's eyes widened at she heard what he said. "What horn?"
