Chapter 4 - Just The Way You Are

(LUCY'S POV)

"Are you sure this is a good idea, Lucy?"

"Don't worry, Natsu, it's gonna be alright!"

We were on our way to the Guildhall, to take up a job. We needed the money, especially now that we have Nashi to take care of as well.

"He'll do a fabulous job at this, trust me."

"If you say so, Luce."

GUILDHALL

(GRAY'S POV)

"You want me to take care of Nashi for today?"

Lucy nodded her head, "yeah, we think you'll be great with her. She seems to like you a lot too."

I was still a little confused, "are you sure?"

"Yeah, totally. Right, Natsu?" She turned towards him, "umm, yeah, we-we're trusting you here."

Lucy's understandable but there's no way Natsu trusts me.

I picked up Nashi from Natsu's arms and his expression looked like he was about to cry, "okay, then, I'll do my be-"

"Juvia can help Gray-Sama!" I froze at the sound of a certain someone.

"Thank you, Juvia, we appreciate your help so much," Lucy warmly smiled. She turned to Natsu, "we're getting late and we should leave now."

She waved us goodbye and turned to leave. Natsu looked at me in the eye, "I swear if I even see a single scratch on her after I came back, you're dead meat." With that, he left.

I watched them leave and then looked at Nashi in my arms. She just woke up and was smiling at me from ear to ear.

"A full day with Gray-Sama seems like heaven," Juvia looked at me with heart-eyes.

I decided to ignore her and focus on Nashi. Her expression was slowly changing and soon she broke out into a cry. What? She was smiling 2 minutes ago!

"Woah-Woah-Woah! What happened?"

Juvia looked confused herself, "perhaps, Nashi is hungry?"

I gently rocked her in my arms and walked up to Mira's bar. Since Nashi was now a member of our guild, we kept a supply of her basic necessities here. You never know when it might come in handy, like now.

"Hey, Mira! Could I have milk for Nashi?"

"Coming right up!" She reached for the right-most shelf and placed a milk feeder on the counter.

"So Natsu and Lucy left Nashi in your care?" She asked while leaning on the table.

"That's right! And Juvia is to help Gray-Sama in this task," she answered for me as I was busy feeding Nashi.

"That's very sweet of you to ask for her help, Gray."

I looked up at her from my seat, "fun story, I never did."

Mira chuckled as Juvia frowned. I was about to say something to cheer up her mood but Nashi cutely interrupted with her adorable laugh.

"Aww, even Nashi's laughing." Mira melted at the sound of her laughter.

"Nashi, Juvia thought you were on Juvia's side!" Juvia played along.

"You've made Aunt Juvia upset, Nashi. Come on, make it up to her." I lifted Nashi up to Juvia's eye level. Nashi stretched her hands towards Juvia and Juvia took her into her lap from my arms. Nashi pulled on Juvia's hair to reach closer and planted a kiss on her cheek. Mira and I watched in awe as Juvia slightly blushed and hugged her close.
