Saturday morning I wake up with a killer headache. Good way to start off my weekend, Jaylee.
I check my phone for the time. 11am it reads. I overslept a lot, considering I usually wake up at around 8. I get out of bed and pick out my clothes for today. I'm going to the diner with the guys today since I invited them yesterday because I was feeling really generous and kind for some reason.
I pick out a maroon peter pan collar zip up dress with some black tights, my black doc martens and a brown cardigan. I would be probably be looked at as a hipster, but I don't think this is hipster at all. The appropriate name for this outfit would be, "A Dress with a cardigan for lazy people who don't wanna wear pants,".
I quickly shower and when I'm looking at myself in the mirror, I actually think my face looks decent without any makeup, so I just skip the makeup and go natural. I let my natural curly hair go loose. I finish putting on my doc martens then I go downstairs to get a granola bar. My stomach has been growling, okay.
I grab my bag with the cash and walk out the door. Rocky's diner is a short distance away from my house which is great so I can go walking and get some exercise. And I also have some time to think of what I'm going to do when it comes to the time when we eat. The only solution is to binge eat.
I arrive at Rocky's shortly in about ten minutes. I am early and I pick a spot for the four of us. I doubt that Nathan will be joining us. He's been so distant lately and I haven't seen him in a while.
I look out the window to see cars zooming by to here, there, and everywhere. In a few minutes I see all of the guys walk in, and as I said,no Nathan. I wave so they can see me in the corner. Derek sees me first and gives me a shy smile, then the guys follow him to me. Derek takes a seat next to me and the guys sit across from us, Casey across from me and Xavier across from Derek. I don't know, but it just feels a little lonely without Nathan here.
"What do you guys want to eat? Don't worry, it's on me," I recall. The waitress arrives shortly to our table.
"I'll have the country chicken and mashed potatoes," Derek says while looking at me.
"I'll get some pancakes and bacon," I look down at my hands, feeling like a pig.
"I'll have what Derek is having," Xavier states. He's always been a little shy, and perhaps insecure.
"And I'll get a ham and cheese omelet with hash browns on the side," Casey says, looking at me.
Why does everyone keep looking at me?
We all ask for coffee and the waitress leaves shortly after.
"You guys want to go to the bar later?" Casey suggests.
"I don't know man, at around what time?" Derek questions.
"Maybe around nine-ish, if that's okay with you guys?"
"I'll get back to you on that, I'll text you my decision." Derek says and Casey nods.
I look around the place and see the jukebox. I love jukeboxes! I look around some more and something catches my eye. That George guy and Jennifer walk into here. Well what a coincidence. I don't know what, but my hands form into fists and I don't know why. I feel my blood boiling and try to calm down. The guys are way to interested in their conversation to notice my weird abruption.
"Hey, I'm gonna go freshen up," I whisper to Derek and he nods. I stand up and walk over to the sign that reads 'Restrooms' and take one last glance around the crowded place to see George and Jennifer laughing and talking on the other side of the diner.
I get inside the restroom and splash some water on my face. What is wrong with me?
