I've always had these fantasies with Nathan. As if one day we would both like each other and become an item. Though that will never happen, that thought is always in the back of my head. Compared to him, I am a nobody. He has tanned skin, and dark brown hair, which is styled in an effortless look. His height is towering at 5'11 and I at 5'4. He is still perfect to me no matter what imperfections he may have.
And now here we are again, I completely hiding my feelings from him while we share a drink. I never thought that Nathan and I would become friends this way, but I guess fate has wonderful ways of working its magic.
"So what have you been up to recently?" I say as I look into his eyes before quickly glancing away so I don't creep him out.
"You know, school and hanging out with you guys." He nonchalantly states as he takes another sip of his chilled liquid. (You nastys)
"Nothing that interesting, I guess."
"Not really." and there it was again. The conversation slowing down and then dying out. I hated it. I wanted our conversations to last for hours and that we would never get tired of each other.
"I'm going to go see the guys," He states as he pays for the drink and heads off in the other direction. I am alone again, as usual.
As I am about to stand up from the chair, I feel someone's presence behind me. My eyes are quickly covered up, and I as surprised as I was, grab the person's arms and swing them back on the floor with me on top. To my realization, it isn't anyone unknown. I look around to see all of the stares I am getting thought the bar. I stand up and grab Casey's arm while helping to pull him up.
"You've got quite a skill, girl." Casey laughs as we both are now on our feet.
"I train, boy." I flex my muscles to him as his face turns a light pink shade.
"Err..emm that's quite some muscle, you could beat me up any day." I chuckle as I put an arm around him as we start to walk outside. The wind is pretty chilly now, and I really wished I had brought a bigger coat.
"I bought these." Casey says as he reaches for his jean pocket and pulls out a sealed new box of cigarettes.
"Damn boy." He quickly opens the box and hands me a cigarette, "You got a lighter?" I nod as I look in my bag and reach for it. Seconds later, our cigs are lighted and we are smoking while leaning against the wall. Smoking is a huge stress reliever for me, but I don't do it as much as coke.
"Hey, I want to try something out." before I have time to respond, I am pulled a couple inches closer to his face as he makes both of our cigarettes touch. We then smoke and this way it makes smoking more enjoyable.
We finish smoking and go inside with the guys so we can leave and they can drop us off. In two months I will be getting my license and I will be able to drive myself here, there and everywhere. It also will make me much more of an independent person and less bothersome.
"Let's go now guys." I announce as we reach the table where they are located at. Everyone stops talking and then they all stand up and follow me as we exit the small bar.
The drive home is as loud as it always has been. Led Zeppelin turned up all the way by Nathan, Casey and Xavier fighting over food, and then there's Derek and I, discussing if coca-cola or Pepsi was better.
Once I get into my room, I jump on my bed, completely exhausted. Tomorrow I shall take a break from all of this and just stay at home. I text Derek about my absence tomorrow.
Me: Hey, I'm not going tomorrow.
Derek: Why? :(
Me: I need to take a break from all of this and have some time for myself, I'm sorry :(
