They dispersed weapons to everyone who was coming and packed food and whatever else they needed. They stood in front of the west doors.
After a moment, Minho asked, "Shouldn't someone give a pep talk or something?"
"Go ahead." Newt told him.
Minho frowned at him before saying, "Be careful. Don't die."
Newt rolled his eyes "Great. We're all bloody inspired."
Thomas turned to Ariella. "Are you okay?"
She nodded. "Yeah."
A voice stopped them. "How come you're taking his side?" Ariella turned to see Gally.
Thomas and the other Gladers on his side walked towards the maze and pointed their weapons at Gally, warning him not to come closer.
Gally gritted his teeth. "After all we've been through."
Thomas turned to face him. "Gally, it's over."
"Gally," Ariella said, turning to him. "It's safer. Come with us."
Gally shook his head. "Good luck against the Grievers."
Ariella sighed and nodded. "You as well."
Minho raised his barbwire club in one hand and a long silver knife in the other and cried, "Ready! Now!"
He ran forward and we followed, raising our weapons.
In the maze, a Griever appeared in front of Ariella and she let out a scream as she stabbed the Griever. It started to stab her and she managed to get it to fall into an abyss. She saw that Chuck was hanging on for dear life and one of the guys rescued him, as they were closer. Teresa grabbed Ariella's arm. "Come on!"
They noticed a codepad and Ariella and Teresa ran up to it. "Thomas! There's a codepad! I need eight numbers!"
As Thomas dodged a Griever's tail, he yelled, "What?"
"Eight number code!"
Thomas' eyes widened. "It's a sequence!"
Ariella frowned as he turned to the Asian boy. "The sequence of the maze! Minho!"
As Minho said the numbers, Ariella typed them. "7-1-5-2-"
"Hurry!" Thomas cried.
"-6-4-8-3."
Ariella typed the last number and everything fell silent. They heard the sound of a door sliding open in the dark corridor.
[Poor Ari just can't catch a break with these Grievers.]
