"Why don't ask him to be your date," I said to Lisa.

She stared at me with widen eyes, "Are you mad?" Lisa face turned flush red and she looked down in her books.

Since we had a free period we sat on the benches in the stadium with our books revising, I had suggested the idea to be here not remembering that Christopher –Lisa's crush had Physical Education.

Things were complicated between them. After she told him she had feelings for him he kept his distance. I had to admit it was a dumb move but when I cornered him about it he told me Luke didn't want him around her.

"So you like her too," I had asked him.

"Yeah of course," he smiled in thought, "She's cute."

I nodded and let go of him, yes I literally braced him to the wall and threaten him to speak. He was very intimidated by me.

"Come on," I said poking her in the waist, she flinched back. "Stop that Alex that tickles."

"What? This?" I started tricking her and she burst into giggles, "Go. Talk. To. Him."

"Fine, fine," she replied catching her breath, I grinned and she shot me a glare before getting up.

Then I watch her walk slowly up to him, she was so nervous I could see it in her behaviour, tapping his shoulder she caught his attention. He was surprise to see her, his eyes glance at mines then back at Lisa. They talked and when I saw him nod and smile, I grinned knowing my plan worked perfectly.

She came back blushing and smiling crazily. "It worked?" I asked.

She sat down sighing loudly and hugged me, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

I pretended to cheerful but I simply wasn't, Timothy couldn't come to the ball and even if he did my father would still know.

I stood in front of my full length mirror, it was a red cocktail dress, nothing fancy but still the earrings I got made me look out so mature, I almost forgot I was wearing lipstick since my nervousness made me think bite my lips. I checked to see if it was still on and I sighed gladly since it was not smudged.

"Can I come in?"

It was Lionel knocking on my door, they came earlier than intended and since I told my father that the Andersons were our friends he seemed satisfied. They stayed downstairs with Alexandria and Jonathan whom were already dressed.

My thoughts about Timothy made me procrastinate.

"Come in," I said grabbing my mask. Lionel stepped in wearing a white tuxedo, his hair tied in a pony tail but he didn't wear his set of earrings like before. When he spotted me he smiled, "You look beautiful."

"Thanks Lionel," I said looking back at the mirror, I saw a beautiful stranger and smiled, "I wouldn't guess red would suit me so good."

He held his arms out and I took it, he stepped out of my room, "You only wear dark colours?"

"Not really," I shrugged, "I wore everything expect red."

"Hmm."

I looked up at him, then smiled sheepishly as if he knew something I didn't, I guess he did, he knew a lot of things I didn't.

When we went down the stairs I saw Luke sitting on the couch talking to Jon while Alex and Lisa chatted together. He looked up when we arrived, his eyes meet mines and turned away so fast I barely read his expression. I frowned wondering what was going on, did I do something wrong.
