First things first. Sorry about not posting for the last two /three weeks. I start college in two weeks so I've been preparing myself to start school again. I am super excited! Anyways enjoy the chapter even though it is a little short.

Jermaine's POV

"Jermaine, are you even listening?" JT asked and I looked up from my phone to see him and everyone else in the room staring at me. We were all in the conference room of the law firm that JT worked for sitting down for another attempt at agreeing to the terms of my divorce. And while normally my focus is sharp, making sure that Marriah isn't trying to sneak her way into more money, my mind had gone elsewhere. Daniella.

"Huh?"

"Who the hell is so important that you can't pay attention?" Marriah spoke, raising one of her eyebrows slightly and I rolled my eyes before sliding my cell phone into my pocket.

"Don't worry about it. Now, where were we?" JT looked at me and nodded before they continued reading out the agreements of the divorce agreement.

"...And on top of the five hundred thousand a month for child support, every two years Jermaine will also pay an additional million," JT read and my mouth dropped open. The fuck? At this point, it would be cheaper to keep her.

"Five hundred thousand a month? And a mill every two years?"

"You're lucky. I thought it should be a million a month but JT managed to talk me down to half." Marriah kicked her feet up on the table before turning her attention to me. "Aren't you glad you have such a reasonable wife?"

"I would just sign the agreement before she changes her mind," JT threw in and I shook my head.

"I'm going to have to think about it."

"JJ you get over thirty million a year bouncing that dumb ass ball, and I am asking for less than two percent a month for spousal support. This is more than fair which is why this offer is only on the table for two weeks," Marriah pitched in and I rolled my eyes. Did she want an award for trying to extort money out of me?

"Yeah, whatever."

"Alright we will meet back up in two weeks to do the signing and then you two will officially be divorced," JT advised and Marriah blew me a kiss before her and her lawyer left the room.

"Look, man, I know you went to law school but I just can't believe that after 5 years she gets that much out of me. Are you sure this is right? I know she signed a prenup so how can she be getting this much, " JT stopped packing up the papers on the desk and raised his eyebrow at me, surprised.

"Since when do you question my law advice?"

"I'm not questioning it but Dani and I were talking--"

"I knew this was gonna happen," he muttered under his breath before grabbing his stuff and leaving the room, having me follow behind him as we left the law building.

"You knew what was gonna happen?"

"You and Daniella. You two would get close and then all of sudden, her word is gold. I've been your lawyer for the last two years and I have yet to do anything wrong but somehow Daniella knows more than a lawyer who passed the bar."

"I'm not saying that."

"I think you and Daniella should stop seeing each other," he admitted once we reached his car as he shoved the documents into his back seat. "You don't think straight when she is around. Maybe you should try working it out with Marriah."

"Okay, now you're the one who isn't thinking straight," I said laughing but stopped when I realized he was being completely serious. "You gotta be kidding me."

"Just think about it." I shook my head before walking away from his car and heading to my own. What was wrong with Daniella and I being together? And what was his problem?

Daniella

I'm here.- JT

I couldn't help the smile on my face from thinking about seeing Jermaine again as I clocked out for the day. Ever since the night at the club, JJ and I had been closer than ever and I couldn't hide the fact that I was more than a little attracted to him.

"Done for the day?" Raymond asked, clocking out after me and I nodded, slightly embarrassed that I had zoned out again after thinking about JJ. "Great then we can go down together."

"Sure." I gave him a small smile as we headed to the elevator and muttered a low 'thank you' when he motioned for me to go in before him.

"So Daniella, do you have a boyfriend?" He asked and I couldn't help my shock at his boldness.

"Um... No. At least I don't think I do," I answered stuttering and he chuckled.

"Complicated?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that," I told him honestly and he nodded before speaking again.

"So who's the lucky guy?" I opened my mouth to answer but before I could the elevator door opened and the man in front of me knocked the breath out of me. Damn, he was fine!

"I was just on my way up to you," Jermaine said grinning before he briefly glanced at Raymond beside me. Clearing my throat, I nervously stepped out of the elevator and moved so Jermaine and I stood side by side.

"Jermaine, this is my boss Raymond and Raymond this is my uh... my um..."

"Her boyfriend," Jermaine filled in before stretching out his arm for Raymond to shake. The two shook hands and if I wasn't so shocked at JJ's declaration, I probably would have rolled my eyes at how hard the handshake was between the two men.

"Nice to meet you," Jermaine said after a moment of sizing Raymond up and this time, I did roll my eyes.

"You too," finally Raymond pulled his hand back before looking at me and sending me a smile. "See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow," I repeated with a smile before he walked passed us, leaving JJ and me alone.

"Boyfriend huh?" I teased and instead of him blushing as he would've back in the day, he moved closer to me, his lips just an inch away from mine.

"Damn right."
