[Hey, so the song featured in this chapter is entirely mine and mine alone. I'm going to post a video sometime of how it vaguely sounds and stuff so yeah.]
-THIS WAR IS OURS! YEAH!-
I pressed sleep on my alarm and sat up in bed. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I looked over at Pen who was in the same situation as me. But her eyes were still red and there was a cut above her eyebrow.
“Penny, what happened?” I asked climbing out of bed and pulling out clean clothes.
“Nothing happened.” She shook her head and noticed the blanket I had lay out on her. “Did you…”
“You looked cold.” I shrugged.
“Well…em…thanks.” she smiled a little.
“No problem.” I whispered to myself.
“What you doing to today?” I asked her getting dressed.
“Classes, meeting with friends and then probably spending the rest with Evan.” She rattled off like a studied piece.
“Oh right…” I nodded.
We got ready in silence till I broke it.
“Pen?” I spoke up.
“Yeah?” She was tying her shoes.
“Why are you dating Evan? I mean, he’s not the best person in the world and you keep coming back here either in tears or hurt. Why?” I stood in front of her.
“I…Well…You wouldn’t understand.” She said definitely pushing past me.
I caught her arm tightly.
“Pen, talk to me. What he’s doing isn’t right. And I do understand. My best friend has been in the same situation to you. So spill.” I narrowed my eyes at her.
She stared me down but I won and she caved.
“He says he doesn’t mean to do it.” She dropped her head. “He doesn’t like it when other guys look at me. But it’s ok for him to hit on other girls. He treats me like dirt. And forces me into things.” She sniffed.
“Penny, you have to break up with him. This isn’t right and frankly against the law.” I told her shaking my head.
“I know but I’m so scared.” She looked up at me with tears falling down her face. This wasn’t the Penny I knew. Well, had known. I am seriously worried now. “I was thinking of moving schools.” She wiped her nose in her sleeve.
“What!? Pen, you can’t leave.” I told her pulling her down next to me on the floor. “If you left how would be my annoying bitchy roommate.” I smiled to cheer her up.
“You think I’m a bitch?” she asked innocently.
“Well, you act like it.” I pointed out.
“I didn’t mean to be. It’s just, that’s how the others want me to act and I do ‘cause I don’t want to out casted like you.”
“I’m not out casted.” I mock gasped. “I actually have some pretty cool friends.” I smiled. “Ever heard of Her Betrayal?” I nudged her.
“Didn’t they play the mixer?”
“Yup, lead singer is one of my best friends.” I put on my cheesy grin.
“Wow. All my friends are fake.” She frowned. She had stopped crying but I’m nearly sure that if I brought up Evan she’d be off again.
“No one said you had to be friends with them.” I shrugged.
“I know but like before; out casted blah, blah, blah.” She rolled her hand in the etc motion.
