It's Friday before I know it so I get the balloons from my car I kept the cake in the teachers lounge. The teacher lets me Herc and Laf to leave class early
Herc and Laf were there setting up already. I brought Maria with me because I may have a little tiny crush on her. Plus she wants to be friends with my friends so this is a start.
"Ok Guys is everything ready?" I ask
"Yeah just we need to get the presents" Laf says
Oh yeah the presents they are in my locker
I quickly ran to my locker and sister snatch the presents and quickly ran back
I placed the presents on the table and waited to hear Alex say something very loud when he is outside the door.
A few minutes later we hear
"ITS OK JOHN WE ARE HERE FOR YOU"
We all get out confetti and streamers in our hands. They open the door and I throw my confetti
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" we all screamed
John looks around the room and whispers 'wow'
"Y'all did this for me" John turned around
"Yes ze did John ze care about you" Laf said his accent becoming more heavy
"Thanks guys but I'm currently having the worst day of my life" John says as he plops down on the couch
"John what's wrong?" I ask plopping down next to him
"Oh it's nothing really just Francis has been trying to talk to me all day" John sigh laying his head back
"Whose Francis?" Maria asked pulling up a chair
John eyes filled with pain
"Maria remember it's my ex" John mumbled
"Wait you know Maria" I asked
"Yeah she's in my art and science class we talk in that class" John says confused a bit
Welp this is surprising
"That's not all we do~" Maria added
I felt a tang of jealousy and I see Alex tense up with jealousy too.
"Oh yeah we also paint each other in class" John said
"Yup we are like each others muse" Maria giggled
I relaxed a little bit but I could see Alex was still tense. Is there something I'm missing?
"Wait how come I never seen Maria in art class you are in our art class" I asked
"Actually I kinda switched all my classes when I was mad at Alex and I just switch them back today and Maria switched hers to be in the same math art and reading class with me so staring tomorrow y'all will see me and Maria more" John said looking down
"Hey! How about you show us your drawings?" Alex asked suddenly changing the subject
"Umm... I don't know..." John stuttered scratching the back of his neck
"Oh come on John let's go get your artwork and I can show them mine too" Maria says rubbing his back
He nods and the two of them walk out
Alex was just staring... probably into space
"So Alex" I decided to break the silence
"Hmm" he responded moving his focus to me
